Any ice or snow, it goes nowhere. It sits covered w/battery charger on
This is the weather why SUVs rock (despite all the SUV hatred on NAM)
I am buried in work. RIght now tagging and cataloging the 25K pics we got on the wife's new mac so she can do iPhoto stuff. Thats taking forever .... And as soon as the weather comes better, I got a TON of yard work to do ... sigh.
Here is where I stole it from Speed gave me the info to this site but I haven't bothered to register, there is one thread asking for tips on how to photograph cars it's tempting not register and leave them with an essay

As you can see, I couldn't resist posting there.
No reason why you couldn't add an essay too.
I really like the open road Lomo shot!
I played a bit with the Lomo look instructions you gave on some more photos I took in Alviso (again tilted with building lines). Definitely a different look...
Original photo with "auto" settings from ACR

(attempted) "Lomo look" from photo above

Not enough vignetting?
Chows, okay the "RSCHE" (
from your ring flash brake caliper photo) is grounded for now, I can understand that. How about showing your RAV4 some camera love then? When you're finished with your wife's photo collection, can you tag mine too?
Playing catch-up now...

Your "Fire & Ice" photo looks great. You even got kudos from photochomp critical Kurt.
Just lose the flame from the A pillar IMHO.

On the topic of vingetteing after the fact I wasn't fond of the method listed I like to get everything squared away then duplicate what I've got and either eliptical or lasso or back with the old photo look I was doing use the square selection, then go into quick mask mode add a ton of Glaussian blur (300+ pixels) invert selection and do crtl-Del which makes the selection got to black then I'll back out the layer fill a little, in the case of these two back to 75% fill.
THe big thing it accomplised was getting me to see curves as unlrealted to the histogram reading so I'm actually using them right and doing tiny edits on tons of photos now.
Congrats Speednut, I think your photo subject soon; better brush up on those portraits.
Think I'll go over and register on DPS.

RAV4. Filthy with salt. Needs a bath real bad.
However, I got the first crocus today playing w/macro. Focusing is a BEATCH! ... no DOF at all. Do you know what that yellow thing is in the pic (not inside the flower)?
These are F22. You know how small crocus are?
Chows, I'll have to dig up some flower shots for you. To give you a hint 2nd to last one is my favortie.
I've got to find a new image hosting service; or decide to up and pay for what I have (but get unlimited storage for ulimited file sizes)
And another comment I got off the Canon boards, in regard to lenses:
I wonder if I shold let out the fact that all of my lenses to date cost less than $200 and most under $150

Hehe, yeah tell them. They seem like a pretty honorable and honest group there!
#8 is very original
#16 is going to get votes because ppl have a dragon on their mind
The leading contender has a very original POV.
These pics have nothing to do with technique. They simply have a more original or innovate idea (except #16 and anything with a dragon in it is going to get votes especially this time of year).
Simply put, the leading one just seems to have a better innovative POV ... IMHO
I dunno it generate lots of positive responses onthe photo boards and other MINI boards so I expected a little better response this month in the contest I loved it as a Desktop for most of the month so I'm decently happy withit, just wondering aside froma few minor focus issues what I could prefect on something that truly was a snap shot as I was playing around.
