April Photo Contest :: Sponsored by VacuCam
This is the 16th installment of the monthly photo contest on NAM.
Follow this link for the: Rules and Submission Instructions Only *new* photos submitted to the contest gallery will be entered into the contest. Do not post your photos to this thread.
April's Photo Contest is sponsored by VacuCam. The winner of the NAM April Photo Conest will receive a VacuCam valued at $119.
Thanks OctaneGuy!
With that in mind, it seems only appropriate that this month's topic be somewhat vacucam related.
Interpret that how you will, keeping in mind that the photos must be MINI related and that only one photo per member per month may be submitted.

I hope I can give you a run for your money on this one DiD...
Thanks Octane for giving us a fancy prize if we win this month!

FWIW, at least four people suggested the topic to me when I asked for topic suggestions.
Also, before I go out shooting new photos I need to finish my processing from AMVIV.

Actually, I've been meaning to participate for a few months now.
This one should make for some cool entries.

I'm all motioned out from my entry for last month...I'll see if I can come up with anything that I haven't already posted...if I had known I would have saved a particular shot...too late...it's been posted. Time to brain storm.

You're welcome guys. By the way, just to clarify, the prize will be my new VacuCam Mini that I previously called the VacuCam Micro.
Hmm, now that I've offered a fabulous prize, I wonder if that excludes me from entering?? Not that I have any chance to win, I've got some motion ideas I've been meaning to try for awhile.
Or heck if it does, I'll just post them in the thread, it's not about winning anyways!

I looked quickly on the vacucam site, but wasn't able to determine if there's a mount for use with a regular camera; is there? I'm not crazy about hanging my new DSLR on the side of my car, but I wouldn't mind experimenting with some shots like that.

As the developer and manufacturer of the VacuCams, I can tell you that my camera systems and mounts were never intended to be used away from each other, so that's why you won't see any mention of DSLR camera mounts, or any ability to purchase my mounts sans a camera.
A VacuCam is a combination of a micro video camera and suction mount. The prize that I am offering for $119 includes a color CMOS video camera, mini suction mount, AV wiring and power.
While the standard (non Micro/Mini) mount can hold up to 80pounds, there are certain atmospheric conditions that can cause them to lose their grip, so would I ever put my precious D70s out there?? No way, and I wouldn't recommend that you do that either.
