Whoever gets to it first. If both of us drive she'll take the MINI and I'll take the pickup.

Ahaaa!

The classic Le Mans start, tripping, gouging, gravel in the opponent's shoe but no scratching, hair pulling or wet *******. Got it.....

Safest way...Let her drive. She knows where you sleep.

That delicate distinction has yet to be considered.

Which raises a question for you more experienced MINI motorists:

Is there a safe way to determine who gets to drive without upsetting the heretofore relatively tranquil status quo of a 35+ year marraige?
Ours was bought to "replace the big diesel truck" (my wife's previous mode of transport) so she gets to drive during the week but at weekends it's mine, MINE, MINE!

Our 02 was bought to replace a gas guzzling Dodge Ram with a hemi. OMG. That thing sucked for gas. Loved the big mean truck but it got like 12 mpg on a GOOD day. We towed the lime green mini to Arizona in 06 with it and got 8 mph if the wind was behind us! Ick. We just got tired of paying so much for gas.

The PU is staying. All I need now is another place to keep it garaged. Its a 10 yo F150 in very good shape and comes in handy quite often. We are adding the MINI to the corral as an escape mechanism. Taking off for weekend jaunts in the Buick just doesn't have the charm. Its a darned good road car with super milage but the fun quotient is in the cellar. MINI motoring all over the place on long weekends and summer time looks like a terrific way to celebrate a second childhood, topless.

We thought we could meet at 5 p.m. on Sat. Nov. 22 for dinner, then head out to Seneca Bowl located at 1909 S Seneca to burn off those calories. (Wife said this) We opted to go off their full menu, so everyone can choose for themselves what they'd like to eat. The bowling alley can probably reserve some lanes for us, but we need a head count ahead of time. So, if you could let me know by Sat. Nov. 15th if you plan to attend, that would help with reserving space for both dinner and bowling. The approx. prices for bowling is $3.50 per person, and another $2.50 for shoes. We can bowl until 9:30, then it's Cosmic Bowling which costs something like $11 per person. So again, need a head count by Nov. 15th, tell me how many, and whether you want just dinner, just bowling, or both. Hope to see you there!
Thanks,
Galen & the wife
Count me in!

I just sent out an e-mail to all of our WAMO members. I have attached a copy of the members list so we can all have easy contact to our "new friends"!

Plus I said about the outing for dinner and bowling.

So everyone who gave me your contact info to be added to the list - "YOU HAVE MAIL"!!

I just received an email that our little waif has arrived! After the good people in the shop have cleaned it up and given it a good looking over, we will get there asap to fill out the adoption papers. Motoring will happen this weekend!

Hmmm, We're just across the boarder in Oklahoma and interested in dropping in for a visit. Send us some club info we're always interested in a drive close to home. Dinner and bowling sounds like fun, I'll pencil it in.

We are at home now with our little adoptee who is all snuggled down for the night in its freshly cleaned garage. The first photo is available for viewing on our gallery.

Somethin' to do next Saturday

If anybody is interested in something completely different, next Friday and Saturday is the Elk Falls Outhouse tour (160 East of Moline has some pretty good crooked pavement). We will drive over to partake in the festivities late Saturday morning or early afternoon, brouse around camera in hand and leave in time to arrive at the Rib Cage ready for greasy chins and elbows.

Kudos to Galen and Sue for throwing together a fun evening. For our first official MINI gathering, we had a super time and look forward to more great adventures.

I tried to set up a Flickr web address at http://www.flickr.com/photos/WAMO but was informed that moniker is already in use. Not sure what to do now, though I am positive all of you are dying to see the Outhouse Tour photos and we'd like to see the ones everybody else took yesterday.

My suggestion would be to see if WAMO_KS is available.....
