IMHO... top logo...
but...
change the font/ lettering... to that of the middle logo...w/ placement of the top logo...but do not stretch it (as in the bottom logo)

Just... my 2 cents
Peace,
D

The top logo is the base to start with, but change to black on white for starters. You can add the colors in later, this is only to get the design dialed in first. The outline of Yosemite half dome is marvoulous and so is the MINI art. Keep these two elements and just dial in the typography for a totally finished logo.

Design and typography recommendations
1. I would start with the typography, "Mid Cal MINIs" and keep working this until you A) have enough "breathing room" for the type face above (too tight now) and B) make it fill out across the top half better with a more horizontally bold typeface such as "Antique Olive Nord Italic". The quest is to make it very readable from a distance in a circle (messing with the horizontal or vertical percentages of typography is a no-no unless you totally know how to pull it off).

2. Use the bottom of the circle to add more data if you like or (see #3)

3. Make the MINI art image larger, poke it out of the lower circle, make it "feel" like it's getting closer.

4. Redo the road so it looks like HWY 120 jammin up through Mariposa!

If you would like me to blast this out ProBono (FREE) I'd be more than happy to do it. I'll be flying out from Vermont and hooking up with my family this summer in Lake Tahoe and spending a few days R&R up at Saddlebag Lake en-route via the western entrance, so we could possibly hook up. Take a peek, I've been designing car club graphics for 20+ years...

IMHO, the lettering "MidCal MINIs" should be enlarged and stretched to fill as much of the circular space as possible. I have pasted a sample which roughly shows what I have envisioned. The lettering should touch each edge, especilly if we intend to create window stickers with this as well.

Cool Brian, I misunderstood, I thought you just wanted the bottom of the lettering to touch the bottom of the inside circle, I will fix it

"MidCal" is most often used as one word, just like SoCal, NorCal.

Some other versions.

Keep in mind we arent tied to just single color stickers, so the overlay doesnt have to not float in order to achieve what we want.

Here are some outside of the box ideas:

You're correct, minor typing slip. I've been all OverCal'd.

I was born in LA, SoCal and then in 1973 moved to Saratoga, NorCal. In 1992 I moved to LakeTahoeCal, now I live in Vermont. I should have known better - gesh - silly me...

I think the (i's) should be the same in both MidCal and Mini's.

I'd try to see if you can separate the type even more - maybe even stack it.

The versions with the type going around the circle would work better for me if it wasn't skewed.

Great work, BTW.

It bothers me that the lines appear to be coming out of the top of the car that represent Yosemite. Maybe when the car color is filled in it will look better. I'd rather see the car coming out of Yosemite, than Yosemite coming out of the car. Just my two cents worth.
