I am calling today "Black" Monday. No I'm not going crazy standing in lines to buy something I most likely did not need in the first place. I went over to CMS at lunch and found my self sitting in between two other black minis and as we were sitting there talking about absolutely something I cant remember the topic. I look outside and come to my amazement there was another one! There were enough black minis there that we could have started the "Black MidCal Minis". I know I am rambleing on about nothing really but since DJ gave up his mini I have not had anyone to match with . I know that there are Black/White in the club, it's just not the same. The worst thing about it all was mine looked the worst, all dirt and polin covered. All of these shiny black minis just shows mine needs a bath. But what can I do, I live on dirt road, have a carport, and drive around 100 miles everyday. She doesn't look that bad if I put it like that. Any who, It was great wish I could have stuck around to get to know the drivers and take some picts, but someone has to work!

Don't worry Pet, Gerbil is just as beautiful today as she was yesterday, and the day before that and she will still be that way tomorrow. I'm not hating it is truly being a proud MINI owner. To represent your car to the fullest. We all do it and I know we all love it or else we would not be mini owners. Besides Minis big thing is "you will never find two minis exactly a like" and I believe that is true. Not one of the minis at the shop yesterday was the same. Our diversity is what makes thing so interesting! Its why MINIs are not boaring!

So Steve and Fracky, I think I found the guy for our porting and polishing needs . I went to his house and in his garage is a small engine building shop . This guy seems very good, lets put it this way, him and Nitrominis could talk for hours . He has a flowbench, we could flow check our heads just to see if Cosworth numbers are correct. We could chip in and do one head? Anyway I am brought him the intake manifold, i'm going to bring the head also just so he can see it and get a better match. This guy is building a head for a Subie right now, very cool. So what you think?

 

I think I'm totally in on this action & would love to have him port my intake manifold, so I/we can get geared up for our engine tear-down. How'd you get hooked up with this guy?

What's going down in MidCal-land gang? Dr.Steve, I'm really enjoying my Alta intake. It sounds like someone slurping air through a straw really loud. Most of all, the dead pedal & TSW engine damper are sweet.

Could it be possible to schedule a run in the near future? Haven't been on one since the Brad Run through Wonder Valley last year. By the way, the wheels do look sweet on my Mini!

 

Shelly and I are talking about a Jamestown run. We'll know more on Friday at the unofficial/normal Casa meet.
