The meeting was good, and it was nice to hang out in the parking lot after wards for quite a while.

CMS was busy on Saturday, Don, Tom, Tina, Pete, and Suzie and John stopped by. It was pretty cool that John and Suzie spent the afternoon helping out with the installation. It was a real task fitting all the wiring for my extra optionals.

The real fun was watching the Dr. reinsert the wires into the dash looked like he was stuffing 10 miles of wire into the dash It was awesome watching him and seeing how he cares for the car as if it was his own.

You're right! I bet Steve could find more room in there to put an EAS Dice Ipod interface with HD Radio.

Kevin it would be interesting to compare wiring bundles yours vs FPD. I have a feeling that once FPD is done it will be close..

MINI had a flat!

Greetings all. MYE MINI had a flat tonight and I pulled the tire and checked for a nail or some other item. When I found nothing I aired it up and then spritzed it with soapy water. Guess what I found. A failure in the tire bead. The tire is leaking air about 1/3 of the way around the rim. Obviously I need a new tire. I have a Pirelli 205/45 17 runflat. Any suggestions as to where to go? By searching the internet I found America's Tire on Blackstone carries them, at least they are listed on the internet as doing so. Anyone had any experience with them? I will need to call tomorrow to find a replacement tire. Thank goodness I own another car! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Poor MINI, she was sick but she still got me home. Thank goodness, it was after 8:00 pm. I washed the car yesterday and soaped the wheels and not a leak to be found. You can see the bubbles in the picture that I took with my cell phone tonight. Now to find out just how good the Pirelli warranty really is.

I ordered mine on a Friday day and they got here on Wednesday. Looks like you went high dollar on your order.

Kikimowse that stinks!! I buy all my tires from Tirerack Tirerack & the tires are UPS'd to my door or I've had them shipped directly to Dave Kurata's. I've not dealt with America's Tire before, but I have dealt with Wheel King (on Blackstone) & Clovis Custom Wheel (on Clovis Avenue, old Town Clovis) before. Glad to hear there's no damage to your MINI & it just a tire swap.

Well, it was pretty amazing cost-wise that I could have something custom milled, drilled & anodized for a marginal price increase. Hey, I'm going to drive the FPD today so if you wanna come by the office to see Lyle's handiwork c'mon over.

You should take it to Dave Kurata's and have the tire checked. Runflats don't seat well a lot of the time anyway and it just may need to be reinstalled.

I haven't put my office back together, yet, so you'll have to wait or see them on Sunday if you want me to bring them to EuroSunday. Have you confirmed that it's on since it's the 1st of February?

Also, MINI rear rotors aren't too impressive even with holes in them.

Good, I just wanted to make sure that "starting up again in February" meant the first weekend, thanks. Did you get the premium drilled rotors that Joe got? If not, they won't look the same.

Joe I've had drilled front and rear rotors for years.

I know they're out there & easy to get (M7, TCE, etc.), but I wanted to get some custom fabricated to match-up with my Stoptechs.

I'll be in the Bay Area tomorrow so the CMS shop will be closed. You can call the shop number and it will forward to me if you need to talk to me.

Thank you all for the feedback regarding my first flat. I don't even remember how many decades ago it has been since my last flat. Dr. Steve you were correct... man a Doctor that can diagnose via the internet without even seeing the patient! It appears that some dirt got between the bead and the wheel rim. They removed the tire, cleaned the bead and the wheel rim and put then put it all back together. It is holding so my car and I are back together again. Boy I missed driving that car. Where the dirt came from, who knows. I haven't been off-roading. I may have to have the security camera at work trained on my car to make sure she is not going out and about without me during the day.

I borrowed my Dad's Acura CL and felt like I was the captain of a Mississippi river boat today. And parking, oh my gawd, where's the SUV parking when you need it! His car barely fit into my 1950's single car garage last night. It wasn't the width, it was the length. Coop missed his little buddy too. MINI and HERR B got along just fine at my parents last night and my Dad's garage looked almost like a three car garage! Oh how I missed my side view mirrors today and the headlights that turn themselves on and off. Let's just say I am so glad to get my baby back.

Many or should I say MINI thanks to MidCal for being my support group during my vehicle crisis. I know it was no biggie but we have bonded, what can I say!
