A Big Thanks
That is beautiful, but I doubt you would need it on your car. I've looked into it for mine, and the only time you would need to start moving towards a custom IM would be in conjunction with a turbo, etc... somehing where you need the better airflow, or in my case wanted to run a FMIC and have the piping be as short as possible.
I'll probably roll over there at 6:15pm'ish. On another note, what's going on with this project: custom intake manifold? What kind of gains are you supposed to get outta this? Just wonderin.
Well, the new Frackmobile didn't pass the visual on the smog test this morning. These smog places aren't messin' around with the visual inspection. No CARB sticker - no pass. It was that simple. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that the car runs cleaner & more environmentally friendly, but still won't pass. Dumb, dumb, dumb...

Say what?????? What didn't pass? Your CAI? Thats all you have right?
I told you guys that the CAI stick out there like a sore thumb and the smog stations have a hard time overlooking it.
Just convert back to stock for the test and you will be ok. The first company that CARB certifies their intake is going to get the California market for CAI after people can't get their cars to pass the visual.

like thats ever going to happen. Steve thought you were going to buy a loaner K&N for us
Intercoolers are easy to swap. It's easy to swap the CAI as long as it's not an AGS.

They were busy, so I tried the place across the street. They said the same thing as the shop next to Muffler Outpost - "the car's wayyyy too low to get up onto the dyno."
That's the kind of ride height I'm talkin' bout. I ended up having to go to McKinley & Cedar to a small shop which has an in-ground dyno. That's the guy who gave me flak for the filter cone.

Here's the vaunted header thread: Header picture + price thread. This is an old header list, but other than the RMW & a few one-off's I'm not aware of any other options. The resonator rattle is kinda vicious, so the header + straight exhaust install after the battery box delete will be first.
Dr.Steve, what's your schedule look like on the 25th? Lyle's going to be coming through Fresno on his way to Bakersfield to see his family. Would it be ok to do the vinyl at CMS if you're around? If you're not going to be around I'll just have Lyle come over to the house.
Need to get something like this for the new CMS car:
