I'm thinking that if it were the o2 sensor Steve should be able to read a bad o2 sensor code. Last time the service light came on he scanned my car and found a lean fuel code. Two things could be wrong. Either there is a bad o2 sensor upstream from the cat that goes to the ecu for use on the non wot part of the injection program or my Uni-chip could be a problem. Before I disconnect the chip I want to explore the o2 sensor area.
You're right about the cost. The cheapest new specific to my car Bosch was $162. The dealer wants $216+shipping. Not cheap.
I'm trying not to drive 'old gray' but you know how hard that is.

Could also be a vacuum leak. The thing is though both times I've gotten the light have been after long highway cruises. The upstream o2 sensor is responsible for part-throttle applications and thats when the problem seems to happen.O2 sensors can be a wear item so I'm thinkin why not look there first.Hopefully Steve's code reader is capable reading codes for individual parts. If not "I've gotta a guy' who can but it will cost me. Thanks for the price warning Blake if you have any ideas feel free.

In other news, my OEM wing is back on.

Great weekend. Worked on my back yard, and played with the dogs.

Is your exhaust still super gray? I bet you are still just running too lean.

Steve

I'm going to call All American Glass this morning about getting a 3rd windshield. Shadow Tint in Fresno can put the "bulletproof" film over the top to avoid any future cracks, chips, etc. but it's best done when the windshield is out of the car. Kinda like this stuff but <1/2 the cost: http://1346843.estore.networksolutio...ail.bok?no=128.

What do they charge for the film?

Huh, I got their information from my SRT4 buddy. All American Glass is familiar with the product & referred me to US Tint at 559.448.8468 who installs this product.

Ok, Brad - put me on the calender for dropping my Mini off at the shop on Thursday too for windshield install. Jim, I just got off the phone with All American Glass (spoke to Melinda) & she said there's no such product like: http://1346843.estore.networksolutio...ail.bok?no=128. Soooooo, don't know. Caveat is my SRT4 buddy (Brett) is the GM for Performance Glass in Clovis & knows all about this glass protection film. I'll ask Brett when I see him.

Security glass laminate is a great product for protection from bullets, but I doubt it would help rock cracks from happening that well... It helps to keep a window from loosing integrity and letting something through, but it is designed to sacrifice the window to stop the kinetic energy of the object.

In other news, I sent my engine mounts off to the powdercoater too!
