Hi Rob; The Porsche club will be holding an autocross this Sunday, the 13th. If any of your group would like to come run, you’d be more than welcome. Cost is $30.00/driver and includes lunch. Setup/registration opens between 7:30 and 8:00. I guarantee you’ll get more than the 3 or 4 runs you’d get at an SCCA event and we have electricity and flush toilets! Google directions to 12801 W. Shields Ave. Kerman . Any questions, feel free to call at 499-1041 or email me at this address.
Kevin

Believe me your not missing a thing. Went out to 12801 W. Shields to check-out the Porsche Club site and was very disappointed at what I found. The size and configuration of the asphalt available was not enough for any acceptable course. It's looks to be a little more than half the size of the Fresno Fair Grounds site used by the SCCA. Just too small. Hope I'm wrong and am looking forward to Sundays particpants coming back and telling me just how wrong I was.

Had a great time in Dunsmuir. Just shy of 800mi for the trip. It looked like the entire west slope of the mountains above Redding were on fire. I see that you posted the you are coming up to HOD mini's in August, is Lolie going to come along too? Terri will be there also. I need to get to EBmini to have the tensioner pulley checked (making a racket...again) and test fit my race pads then should be good to go. You, me, Hans, Kat and Brent...should be a fun time....and it will be a "freshly" paved track!! Whoo Hoo!
Oh, and Rob will have is Clubman on track instead of his "classic" and was pretty quick on some of the twisty's around Mt. Shasta this weekend.
Yah I'll be there san Lolie who will be working. Chris and I will be the only ones to go north to hang with the Red Wood Empire folks. Lookin' forward to testing out the new surface. Hope it's an improvement to what was already a good surface.

Yup....Going to make copies for Cliff and Chris.
Probably drop them off 1 day next week. Down to the wear bars on my tires, so some new "shoes" are in the future......the old ones were "howling" long and hard all day.
Took out about 1/2 the life of my new BP-20's and the boot was covered in brake dust, but they held up very well.....no fade at all. With the resurfacing of the track they changed turn 15 a wee bit and made the exit on to the front straight much quicker. GPS had my max at 108mph.
and the average for the session at 75mph.

I ran with my BP-20's instead of the Poly-B's because I was too lazy to swap them out at the track. We headed over to the coast for a couple of days then back to T-hill on Sunday to watch Jerry run in the USTCC race before heading home. Rotors still look good....after 10+ track days, but I'm sure they are getting thin. This weekend will be a "prevent maint" MINI work day. As I said before, pads are 1/2 gone after 1 track day, but I was leaning on them pretty hard.
I think both Cliff and Chris were running the Poly-B's so maybe they can chime in.

When is your next track event?Steve
I was just wondering if the BP-20's were as close to as bad as the Poly-B's since I know Cliff has been eating rotors. Pads are easy and not too expensive so I like the fact that they didn't destroy the rotors and still stopped well. I did like the stopping power when I switched out Chris' BP-20's for the Poly-B's.

I'll know more about the condition of the rotors when I pull everything apart this weekend. Next track day..?? I need to let my "check book" recover a bit after the "emergency" crank pulley replacement, the "tune", HOD/MMMT event costs...and of course, my digital camera decided to take a dump over the weekend.

Go here for photo's from Thunderhill. #3 is Cliff, #31 is Chris and #57 is me.

I moved over here for this topic. How did the rotors hold up? The Poly-Bs seem to eat the rotor. I haven't run the track that direction yet, but GPS the other direction read 115 mph last time. I really had to brake hard at the end of the straight to not run off the track. I think I could have been even faster if I had not been chicken and entered the straight faster. Though I might have had trouble slowing for the turn if I'd been faster.

Thanks for posting. I was going to see if I could give either you or cliff some money and get a copy of the group pictures.
Well, I think I will stick with the BP-20's. When I get as fast as my MINI (not likely), I will change.

From now on no more race pads.
