Let's pick a date for a MINI drive... :-)

There has been talk of doing a SE Ohio MINI drive. Fall seems like a good time. This drive will take place on Saturday. Date TBD... Any ideas on a good date?

Who would like to come along with us?

We were thinking of driving down to Marietta on Friday evening & leaving from there for a back road romp through SE OH & crossing over to do a loop in WV. This tour will include a ride on the salamander. If anyone didn't want to overnight in Marietta they could meet us Saturday morning down there for the drive. It's about 2 hours from Columbus via interstate.

So lets get some ideas going here.

Sounds like a blast!

I won't be able to make it for a sept drive, but there is a good chance for Oct or nov, if that was to work for others. Biggest issue will if I can get off work or not...

I was leaning towards a time when the leaves are changing color. Maybe our resident local SE Ohio guy can chime in & tell us when that is down there.

How about it Allen???

I think later September early October would be best, but it all depends this has been a strange summer usually if it is dryer the colors are better but I do not know if lots of rain then dry helps or hurts.

I guess ask your mom or dad, they are still down there & know the seasons better than we do.

I'm also thinking late Septemer or early October would be good. That narrows it down a bit.

Allen, didn't you grow up down there? I'm very disappointed in your lack of fall foilage knowledge. You mean you didn't keep a journal each year to track the weather year-round and it's impact on the timing and color of the leaves changing?

I read somewhere that when the hill folk leave the hills & start wearing shoes their hill knowledge is forgotten.

My car is not purple....

Hillbilly is a cruel label. I prefer to think of hill folk as hillican's.

Off to Waldo now for fried baloney. Mmmm.....

Yep the G&R. Yummy stuff. That place is like Sonic for Silverback's.

We had a fine back road ramble in the NOT N MG. Had a wonderful lunch that finished up with home made pie. Life is good!!!

If anyone wants to do a back road drive up there sometime just let me know.

Back on topic....

*****Fall drive, who wants to go?*****

Hey Chuck...OT again. Look who is rated as the 9th best hamburger joint in the country, Crabill's in Urbana. A great Silverback venue (Chuck knows because he just experienced it a couple of weeks ago). How about a back road trip over there too

Check it out http://americasbestonline.net/hamburgers.html

Crabill's was very good. In a few weeks when I get my cholesterol back to normal I'd be up for a Craybill's MINI run. Anyone else? Welshguy that's in your backyard.

How's this, breakfast at Der Duchman motor to Craybill's for lunch? Man that would be heaven.

I'm sure some BRM folks would join in the fun. I'm good any weekend except for OCT. 11.

Allen & I have already talked about not putting this on top of a British Racing Motors event. We'd love to have you guys come on down.

I talked to the BRM peeps today. Looks like we might be "crashing" the event. Me, Greg, Wellzy, Rebecca, etc would be interested in attending. Pick a date so BRM can post it too.

We's love to see you guys. In fact all enthusiast owners of MINI's are welcome.

We'll try & hammer out a date by next weekend. Maybe sooner. Stay tuned....

Being a Marietta grad Amanda loves any opportunity to enjoy the town when we pass through. I'm sure you can sign us up.

That won't work for Babs & I. She is with her book club group & will be spending the weekend in Geneva.

How about October 11th?

I was avoiding that so Kim could come, but that date is open for me. The following weekend is the traditional breakfast weekend.

I'm thinking if we get too late into October we will be looking at bare trees. I'm going to PM the BRM denmother & see what she thinks about the 11th.
