I think I'm gonna cruise down and visit you mid-ohio guys since it's been a while.

Anyone want a shirt? I could bring it down....you wouldn't even have to pay shipping . I'll throw in an ohio-event discount....just $18 per shirt. Let me know what color/size if you're interested

HERE are the pictures from today. I only took about 14 photos today and the new ones are first, but there are also some older pictures from previous breakfasts towards the end.

Nimcosi (Rob ?) I really like the Mid-Ohio Motoring Club Storybook that you put together. I wish I was around when you were taking orders.

AND I was impressed with all the newer people that showed up today. At the current rate, I'm afraid the R56 members will soon overpopulate the R53 members.

FINALLY, I'm thinking of starting a new reference thread for all of us Mid-Ohio Motoring Club users. I have a really hard time putting names to faces, especially converting NAM names to real names, then matching it to a face. What I have in mind for this thread is to have your NAM username with your real name next to it, with an optional picture of you and/or your MINI. Sound okay to everyone?

Nimcosi (=Jason). Thanks for the other thread, it will help immensely. Also I can order additional books at any time. so let me know if you want one.

Also I forgot to ask, what is the name of the mechanic in Powell who is mini friendly? I have a friend looking for a good place for non-warranty work.

Great to see everyone and the new folks as well!

Yes thanks for arranging this for us Matt. I know I had lots of fun & I saw lots of smiles all around.

Pretty good turn out for a LAME club me thinks.

Thanks to everyone who arranged the event. I test drove the blue "Clubman S" and I gotta say, it was really nice! The powerband on the turbo engine doesn't seem to mind the extra weight. Overall it felt a bit more grown up, but every bit a MINI.

Matt,

Thanks for setting this up. It looked to me like everyone was having a great time. I really think MAG is on the way up. Kris Murray appears to be a breath of fresh air, full of enthusiasm and eager to help out.

We had an amazing turn out.

Word of caution: the blue clubman S has been well-thrashed -- don't buy it! LOL

Paul and Sue

Red has to still be the fastest Clubman BTW - Not sure I like the name Clubman, Club-person sounds dumb too. Anyone else have better ideas????

MINI XL was probably not a good idea?

IMO they should have called it the Traveller or the Countryman. Both were Mini names from the past. Too bad BMW doesn't hold the rights to those names any longer.

I thought that Austin had a Clubman "back in the day", as well?

Correct Austin.....

There was an Austin Clubman, It was a version of the Mini line. It came in all body styles, not just a wagon. It had a somewhat wonky looking front end.

Actually, I think the Austin Clubman wagon looked more like a panel-type proto for Mini [the above pic is the Austin Cooper, NOT the Clubman], while the Traveller was more like a "woody". Paul's Strieby's next door neighbor, Tim Bosse, has 2 Austin Clubmans [one is restored; the other, he uses for autocross]. They trailer Paul's Traveler and Tim's Clubman to Summertime carshows and MME.
