IMPORTANT UPDATE:

According to Kris Murray, the new sales manager over at MAG, the Clubman will GO ON DISPLAY on Saturday, Feb. 16 - great timing! he expects that they will get their floor models on the 14th at the earliest, and will just have time to get them cleaned and prepped for display. I told Kris that we'd be interested in coming out on Saturday morning, so please REPLY TO THIS THREAD so I know approx. how many people to expect. I suggest we meet at MAG instead of assembling on the east side and traveling over. Kris advised they have "8 different kinds of coffee on tap" and I'd assume that they will get donuts or something - if not, Bob Evans is right across the street - we can get hot food there after we finger-smudge up the Clubmans.

Checking on that - I need to see how early they can be there for us. Hopefully they can do a "closed session" with us early in the morning, but I want to be sure that the sales manager is OK with coming in early for us. Dems dat wanna can head back over to Outmotoring afterwards if they like.

No problem - I'm just glad that the new MINI Sales manager seems more interested in doing community stuff. I'd really like to see us do more activities in conjunction with NAM. I know that some members are very wary of "organization" and officers and such, but I see the larger clubs that DO use this structure doing larger, more formalized events and I wish we did more.

 

Barbara & I will be coming over in our own disorganized way. If you want, I could score a couple dozen donuts to bring along. It would be an unorganized variety pack.

I met him a while back and got the same impression. I told him about the Saturday morning get togethers and he seemed genuinely interested about being involved with the local MINI community. We'll see.

 

Yep, lets give him the benefit of the doubt. I hope he can get us some track time at Mid-Ohio. Now that would guarantee that my next MINI comes from MAG.

 

Darn, we're driving out to NJ to see family that weekend. Actually I would rather see the Clubman -- whoops..better hush my mouth! At least we're taking the MINI out east (unless it snows, then its big brother, the X3).
