Shared Interests -- motorcycles?
I know some MINI owners share common interests such as photography, etc. I wondered if any of you Mid-Ohio folks are into motorcyling (or is the MINI your only means of taking on the twisties?) I just visited AD Farrows and replaced my old Yamaha with a Harley Davidson Street Rod (their water-cooled sports-oriented bike).

Yes, Street Rod was one of V-Rod family. And as you noted the engine was jointly designed with Porsche. In fact it is very similar to a Porsche engine, sliced down from 4 to 2 cylinders. The Street Rod model was only sold for 2 years in US but is quite popular in Europe. Many traditional Harley riders find the upright (mid-control) riding position too much of a departure from the foot forward laid back design of most other HD's. I like it -- allows for greater lean angles (pegs are higher), better handling, and it permits some of the rider's weight to be carried on the legs. The lousy resell value (for a HD) makes it affordable, too.
Looks like that thing causes lady problems, the owner looks to be getting a real tounge lashing in the background. Or maybe he is getting a hug, hard to tell. Something tells me Kara would not be too keen on another wheeled addition to the family
My Dad has a '72 Harley, freshly restored, just sitting and dry-rotting at his place. I'm trying to convince him to give it to me so I can keep it running. That way, if and when he ever wants to ride, all he has to do is show up. As it is now, whenever he wants to ride, it's been sitting so long that it's started rotting out all the seals... (sigh)...

Allen if you get that Camaro, lets put a cage in it & go vintage racing. I'll crew in exchange for a couple of track sessions at the wheel.
The hardest thing for any vehicle is just sitting. What a waste.

Yea and it is a very rare RS/SS both option packages and Omaha Orange with a black roof and side pipes it is a beauty. Two of my friends growing up are the owners kids and I do not think either of them can drive a stick. He also has a partially restored 68 convertable and a dragster where you sit behind the engine, and a 1989 IROC red with tee tops. My buddies first car was a Formula Trans-Am that they repainted and did some mods to. I think his brother learned to drive in a 68 Caddy. We also spent two summers taking apart a 60's Cuda. Needless to say I get alot of my love of cars from that family. I remember my dad had a new Vette back then and I always thought the Camaro was faster.
