Boston, kinda bummed that for all the MINIs around, most being beaten up, there are not many meets around the area from what I can tell. Anyone interested in doing one soon? Late March/Early April 2011?

I'd totally be down for a meet! I was actually thinking of suggesting one soon too!

Same thoughts as you too, I see so many a day going in and out of Boston for school.

I think I have seen your cooper at Wentworth in the morning. My girl attends and think I saw it in the back lot by the projects on a few occasions? Only other MINI ive seen with anything other than stock on it in the area is a 2011 clubman on Beacon with wheels and seems some other things.

No way! That could have very well been me, I know that there is a red/black justacooper too.
I usually park in the north lot but they've closed that for a few weeks and I've been parking in the other lot. I'm always there early also so it could have very well been.

where are you around in Boston?

Hey man, Hows it going! what ever happened to the LAN party?

I haven't been up to Peabody in a while, I've been going to Herb for anything I need but I'm sure that they are still doing it.

Costal run eh? rt 127 thereabouts heading to Maine? count me in buddy

Was that you pulled over behind a dark-colored Cherokee (?) in the left lane heading westbound on Storrow, just past the Longfellow Bridge at 7:20 or so this morning? I was on the Red Line heading downtown at that time....

Hope any damage was "merely" cosmetic.

Yep that was me
Looks like its just a rim, plastic wheel arch and a arch light from the surface of it.
The only thing that gets me is that I had just gotten that rim replaced, All of them were curb and scratch free... untill now

Was the driver just not paying attention?
Looks that way though.
Sorry to hear about this, hope the repairs go smoothly.

Yeah, He didn't look before pulling out of the lane while trying to overtake a van.
I swear if it was dry out I would have stopped in time, As soon as I saw this guy coming towards me I jumped on the brakes but just felt it skidding on the wet pavement...

Thanks, I hope I don't find any surprise broken parts either. Hopefully I can get the rim replaced too, that's what I'm mostly concerned about.

The guys insurance playing for it? I certainly hope so. Glad to see people popping up around the area now though. Hooray for people!

Yea he's paying for it, we swapped info naturally and we went on our ways no real hard feelings either way. He was like there is no damage worth repairing on mine,

This nice weather is such a tease too, I want so suggest a meet soon :lol

When I'm all better we should get together sometime.

Yeah, back to cold and snow now unfortunately. More time for you to get fixed up though.

I think I just have to accept that its going to get the crap beaten out of it during the winter, I'm just leaving anything that happens to the car now until spring to repair. Coming in on Rt1 last week a rock cracked the windshield too. Right behind the mirror but it turned and now is spread right across the top half of my side.

I'm hoping to make this the last winter the MINI see actually so this spring/summer I am going to do plenty of modding

In other news I finished changing over all the light in the MINI to nice cool white LED's for the interior and plate and Xenon-Matching Fogs and DRL's
So much better then the incandescent light bulbs

Dooo ittttt

They are Hoen Xenon-Match H8 bulbs btw and if you get those your going to want to change your DRL's too.
They are PIAA Xtreme white 194

I started with LED's for the Plate and then look what happened

Word of warning though The white fogs IMO don't put out more visible light then the OEM ones. Its more of a form over function thing but I'm fine with it and it looks Great!

no dates planned yet for the coastal run, lets try and plan on doing an april meet, would we want to maybe meet at someones house, a rest stop, a parking lot? maybe go for a cruise from there and get some food?

The DRLs are not xenon's to begin with nor shall ever be, They are just little 5 Watt incandescent bulbs. I believe that the Fogs are 55 Watts and idk what the headlights are.

It looks so nice though

Ben, from experience with the YR events in the past I would suggest making a thread or starting a list of people who are going to want to come. From there we can decided on meeting point central to mostly everyone, Most likely either a rest stop on the highway that can accommodate everyone or a parking garage or lot of a office building if its on the weekend.
