Thanks, guys, for your help.
This is where the vehicle is:
Open Road Acura
1425 Route 23 Wayne, NJ
Are you familar with this dealer? I like the car, the price seems right but if I figure in the shipping charges to L.A.(which I don't know yet) if it is a good deal?
I need someone to check it out and tell me what they think.

Beware of Open Road if you're buying a used car. My boyfriend bought a beautiful used A4 Avant from them. Was told all maintenance had been performed, including replacing of the timing belt. Car died while we were driving it home. Guess what? Timing belt.

The whole thing turned into a nightmare that I won't even go into. Just be warned.

You could always come out here and check out Morristown mini, they always have a few used and new on the lot. Forget shipping, take a cheap flight out here and drive it home. It will be a fun road trip

Thanks for the headsup. Its really great to have help like this and avoid a lot of headaches.
cooperjedi, thanks for the link, but considering I'm in SoCal, its got to be a great deal for me to bring back a car from the eastside, and dealers seldom have great deals. I know, I know, I was looking at the dealer there in NJ, but after thinking about it, the best deal will come from pp who needs cash right away.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestion

Oliverm, I bought my factory ordered 05 MCS from

Salt Lake City's MINI of Murray for MSRP. (had to wait about 4 months) Flew up, drove it home (stayed over night in Vegas), Debbie Linge was who I delt with - she was great... Even picked me up at the airport.

When I got back to Los Angeles, it was simple to get the car smog checked, and pay the state taxes. (No dealer premium, and that covered my flight to Salt Lake City, and the California taxes)

It has been just over a year. This car has changed my life for the better...

Good luck getting your Cooper!

Did you ever check Long Beach BMW, the mini club recommend this dealer for people looking for a new mini?
The reason I don't shoot for a new is really just to keep the costs down. I know I should be able to get something used 03 or 04 just under $17k if I just wait. I'm in no hurry, but, I just hate it when I've just miss a deal such as the one posted here from Virginia.

Am I going to find an 's' without sport suspension?
I rather go with '03 or '04, there's a better chance I will have a warranty a bit longer. It would have to be a steal for me to take an '02, but I would consider it. You have to consider the distance I have to travel and transport it back.
I think that '02 is a bit high, IMHO. It is the right colour.
