EDIT : Please PM me if you are interested, so that I get an e-mail immediately, in case I'm not checking in often here. Thanks!
I never dreamed I'd be selling this car so soon, but I really like the '05s, and I'm fiddling with a few options, picking up a couple, dropping a couple, and hopefully will be MINI-less for only a few weeks! Here's the deal:
2003 Cooper 5-speed, delivered Oct. '02. No dealer badges.
27,xxx miles, so over 22k left on warranty!
Chili red with white roof & mirrors.
15" 7-hole wheels, silver.
Chrome front bumper accents, but not on the rear (a screw-up from the factory that I've grown to like!).
Leatherette sport seats, silver dash & door panels.
Panoramic sunroof.
Front foglights & rear brake light mod to use the whole taillight instead of half.
Onboard computer, multi-function steering wheel with radio controls, cruise, auto A/C climate control, AM/FM/CD (no HK).
Parcel shelf with auxiliary audio input jack for iPod, etc.
Borla exhaust, B&M short shift kit, Moss MINI cone air intake, Magnecor spark plug wires. None have ever been mentioned by the dealer, except in praise!
White side turn signals with amber bulbs.
Silblade front windshield wipers with 5-year guarantee. (The OEM ones are terrible)
Transmission replaced at 15k miles under warranty, so this one is only 12k miles old! The first one popped a seal in subzero weather.
Brand new front windshield, less than one month old, PPG glass.
Only 7k miles on new front tires, replaced due to a bubble. OEM Continental all-seasons.
Oil changed more often than dealer intervals, with full synthetic (Mobil 1, Amsoil).
Brakes checked at 25k service; 6-8mm on front and rear pads, so they're good for a while yet.
Car runs perfectly, and (of course!) is a blast to drive. I've always driven manual transmissions and do not ride the clutch, so it should have very little wear. I've done some spirited driving, but never redlined the car, and rarely top 5k on the rpms. Although I live in the city, I do not make a lot of very short trips; that's what my bike and my feet are for. The majority of the miles are highway, leaving town for weekend road trips, and the 40-mile highway commute that I do once a week. I have all dealer service records and installation receipts for the exhaust & short shift.
A few cosmetic blemishes: cracked front turn signal lens, a few nicks on the bumpers, a couple of small scratched areas of clear coat, and no clear bra, so various tiny nicks in the bonnet and front bumper paint. Nothing worth bothering to touch up, according to a paint shop I visited. Minor curb rash on one wheel and at bottom of front black plastic trim. This is all stuff that you wouldn't notice from 5 feet away. I can e-mail close-up photos. Overall the car is super-clean and in awesome shape.
Asking $17,000 OBO. Located in Brighton, MA. PM me or respond here with any questions! (Let me know if I'm leaving anything out.)
I'll post interior shots soon; the sun had gone down by the time I vacuumed today...
Thanks!
Chris

Almost forgot an important bit of history: someone hit my car in a parking lot last summer.
Here's a photo of the damage. Rear bumper was replaced, taillight was replaced (it had a scratch), and obviously a bit of bodywork and painting was done. Now you can't tell anything ever happened to it.

Just to clarify, I'm not ready to sell the car in the next few days. I still need to figure out some logistics (registration, title, bank check, taxes, warranty, etc.), and I'm waiting on the driver's door armrest padding piece from the dealer. I had the door panel replaced under warranty due to the silver paint rubbing off, and I'm still waiting for that piece to come in.
I also noticed when I was taking pictures yesterday that one of the foglights is out. Since I've used them for maybe 4 hours total, I'm hoping to get that replaced under warranty as well.
Edit: just made appt for Monday for armrest and foglight.
I just want to make sure I'm not passing off any problems or inconveniences, however minor! Hopefully everything will be sorted out in the next week or two, and I'll be advertising it with Autotrader. For now I just wanted to get the description and photos up.
Thanks for looking!

Minor suggestion. You might not want to transfer the August 2006 registration to the buyer. It could link you to the acts of the new owner in a car still registered to you. At the least you could be responsible for all parking fines. Too scary to contemplate the rest--the subject of pulp fiction. Best wishes selling your Cooper. Does Boston have a Craig's list? Using it I sold my previous car in 3 days.

So basically what it boils down to is that I really love my car (and hopefully someone else will, too)!

Bump... I'm heading out of town until Monday evening, so will not be responding to PMs etc. Someone came to take my car for a ride today, and I rode in the back seat for the first time!
Looks like you have been sitting on this car for a bit. I think you are priced way to high.
From the options you listed this is a bone stock car, except for the premium pkg and the fog lights, That means this car brand new cost around 18.5k tops...you are asking nearly what you paid for it with 27k on the clock and 2yrs......This might fly for an S but no way for a cooper......Plus its got the dents that need repaired. Just the body work alone added on to your asking price is over current retail for a brand new one.....you are on the east coast and they sit all over on dealer lots so they are readilly available so you aren't selling to a mini starved market like on the east coast.
This car I would say is worth maybe 14k....2k worth of body work and 2k depreciation.

I think the price is fair, it is your car anyways, who cares if you ask $100K
Hope you sell it pretty quick. Good Luck

I have also added parcel shelf, Borla exhaust, and a few other goodies. KBB value for a private party sale is $16,815 in good condition, $17,920 in excellent condition. For now I'm sticking to my price. Other than posting it here, it's only been on cars.com and autotrader for a couple of weeks. Not sure if that qualifies as "sitting on it a while" or not. Two visits to check it out so far, and another set up for this weekend.
