FS: 2005 MCS Exhaust System - Brand New!
The exhaust system has now been SOLD!
Hi All,
Would anyone have an interest in a brand new exhaust system just taken off of a 2005 MINI Cooper S (January build with a March delivery)? The system was taken off the car with only 80 miles on the clock so it's brand spanking new. The front gasket, mounting bolts/nuts, and all hangars are included and the tips are in pristine condition. Local pickup in the Southern California area only as it's waaaay too big for me to ship (it's one piece that runs near the length of the entire car. ).
I'm looking to get rid of it cheap so please make me an offer (I'm open for pricing suggestions as I have no idea what it's worth (if anything). All I know is that I don't want it hanging around my garage for too long. ).
The exhaust system would make a great starting point for the One-Ball mod!

Hi rednwhitecooper,
Thanks for your interest in the exhaust... However, I'm afraid that I don't want to mess around with shipping it as that would be more hassle than it's worth for me. Besides that, the exhaust system is huge and it weighs a lot too. Thus, I'm sure that it would cost way too much to have it shipped over to you in Ohio.

Yes, but you guys probably had older exhaust systems that didn't have any aftermarket appeal whatsoever. Mine is a brand spanking new (only has 80 miles on it total) 2005 MCS exhaust system. The newer 05 systems have a much better sound than the older MCS exhaust systems did and they may also make a bit of additional power as well (something like 5 hp).
I'm not debating the fact that it might not be worth much (if anything at all to you), but in my opinion, it's worth something, and certainly more than the older systems are (especially if they had higher miles on them). My 05 MCS exhaust system may appeal nicely to someone who has an older car and would like to upgrade it to having the latest factory exhaust system (thus completely retaining their factory warranty) for quite cheep (i.e. much cheaper than the price of a $700 aftermarket exhaust system like the Milltek, Borla, etc.). Or possibly to someone who's car has been in a slight fender bender at the backend and had the exhaust system damaged, etc., etc.
Just my $0.02...

Brother...from what I've heard, the 05' exhaust is actually exactly the same as the old ones, but BMW has tweaked the ECU programming to cause that new "POP" sound and the extra 5 horses. Anyway.. I hope you can sell it to someone!! Peace!! What are you replacing yours with??

I don't see how it would be possible to build the "popping" sound into the car via the ECU. It has to come from the exhaust system itself.
Anyway... The stock exhaust system was replaced by a Milltek and I'm very happy with it!
