I'm a little sad to announce that I am putting up my beloved Cooper for sale... It's a 2003 MC, 5 speed, PS/B, with premium and chrome package. It only has 8k miles on it.... it has 17 in. katana inspire alloys with the aero kit rear spoiler.... this car is just a pure blast.... I came across some $$$ and now have ordered my 05 MCS. I wish I could keep both but alas, the mrs. won't allow it..... here's a pic...

You'll likely have more luck if you post an asking price. Just saying "it's for sale" leaves things very open ended. A price let's a prospective buyer know if he/she is in the ballpark.

Hey Asaulo, here in my neck of the woods your car would sell privately for around $19,549. On a trade-in you would expect to get around $18,448. Me thinks your price is not off target at all but I am surprised that given California's long waiting lists and absurd markups on new MINIs you still haven't find yet a buyer.

I would suggest for you to try to sell it in MINI2.com (For free) and also check out your local Carmax and see how much they will give you for it (As the very last resort if you can't sell it). How much does the dealer give you on a trade in??

It seems to me that if the net difference between a private sales vs a trade in is only $1K you should consider just trading the car and forget about the hassle of selling it privately.

 

unfortunately, trading it in is out.... I have not been paying attention that much in selling it until I realized that my car is almost here.... I have it on several car sale sites (autotrader, cars.com) and getting some calls... I'm sure once they see the car and see that it was hardly driven, it'll be sold right away... thanks for the advice....

 

The car is very, very nice. You should not have a problem finding a new home for it.

Kelly Blue Book says your MINIs Private Party Value is a little over $20K in Cal. You shouldn't have any problem selling it at that price. If you look the car up on the other car guides it would be listed for substantially more. Hope you sell it soon. :smile:
