2003 R53 XEON Hedlight transfer???

I have a 2003 base cooper & a 2003 S cooper.

What i want to do asap.

Take my headlights from my R50 and put them in place of the 03 S coopers XEON set up that is horribly expensive.

Has any one done this? Easy clip in or will some mods be needed.

Should transfer OK...
But it MAY need programming to prevent the xenons from strobing...
The halogen lights are run at slightly lower voltage on a canbuss car...to lengthen the bulbs life..
Aftermarket units avoid the issue with a huge capictor....oems USUALLY had to be coded...

Okay.....
We both said you can do that....
But you need to look into figuring out voltages upon changeover.

I went from stock halogen to pre-facelift Xenons to 05-06 projector HIDS. No modifications or programming done and they've all worked great.

He wants to go reverse
Which I read might cause voltage issues in pre facelift halogen lights due to excessive voltage...
Have you heard of this as well in your experience with MINI?

I'm interested in the outcome. Why don't you swap 'em and tell us what happens. I'm selling my old Mini with xenons, and hoping I could swap them halogens in the new one with the xenons on my old one.

You can do that....some require reprogramming the voltage.

The inverse is questionable because of the excessive voltage
