Trailer hitch on 2006 S Convertible

I want to put a trailer hitch on my 06 S ragtop, mostly for adding a bike rack. Do you know any shops in the Madison area that has done this - and done a good job? Both places on the east side I talked to today said "we don't show one for the S, sorry".

I'm not sure I want to tackle the job myself - so looking for advice.

Thanks!

did you look at Mini do more? I Installed one on my Mini and it really is easy. You'll work at it for a couple hours. But everything is doable by everyone with time and patience. On their web site, they have detailed instructions and videos. They have a few models. If you are unsure of which one you need, just give them a call or email. Looks like you need model 1002 ou 1003, depending if you have a rear fog light or not. http://www.minidomore.com/mini_coope...iler_hitch.php

Yep, that is what I've been looking at. I just wondered if anyone knows of a shop that could do it for me if I decide not to tackle it myself. Might be time to tap into my more mechanically minded neighbor for help.....

Honestly. it's not hard to install. Just follow the detailed instructions. Took me a few hours, taking my time not to break anything

I'd be glad to help. I'm just a tad too far

Help - someone sent me the name of a Madison auto shop and a mechanic that could help me get my Mini Do More hitch installed - and I lost both the shop name and the name of the mechanic! I think it was something like Milwaukee Auto - but can't find a Madison listing anymore.

Ideas?

I might have recommended Milwaukee Motorwerks previously. Not happy with the latest work done there, so no longer would suggest you use them unless it it a very straight forward known service procedure. Other shops sometimes mentioned by club members include Kelly-Moss Motorsports, Phoenix Foreign Car Service, Dunn's Import Inc.

Problem solved. My neighbor with a garage FULL of tools and more skill with them than I have helped me put in the hitch. 1-1/2 hours, including time to yak. New Freedom bike rack from Saris already been put to use!
