I don't think the xenon add 20 pounds over the halogen?

And you'll both adore the heated seats (and you can feel them through heavy coats etc) best and fasted way to warm up The lumbar support is nice to have too as a comfort factor.

Does getting the JCW suspension pre-delivery save any money? If not why not just get the car stock and see how you feel about it before opting for changing the suspension. You may find the stock fine for your needs, and if not you'll still be covered warranty wise if you go with the JCW later (and be able to compare the diff).

Do you have the link? Is it in one of the performance oriented threads?

"You may notice that I didn't recommend installing coilovers. While the ultimate in handling can be had with coilovers, the truth is that they are bigtime overkill for 95% of MINI drivers. The biggest advantage of coilovers is corner-weighing the car. You can manage load by transferring weight from one corner to another to better balance the handling of the car. Most folks with coilovers don't even have this done, completely defeating the purpose."

You Want to Talk Numbers?

There is one set of numbers no one has mentioned and perhaps the most significant and those numbers are "re-sale value".

A used car buyer will more than likely pay a higher price for a JCW Mini than a heavily moded MCS. If you are going to compare numbers compare all the numbers not just the one's that might support your own position on the argument.

Do you have empirical data to support that claim or just your gut feeling?

Yup!

Selling used cars for 35 years tells me that factory options will always bring in more money on re-sale than after market options hands down.

All options even that is each car having the same options the factory install will always bring in more money ask any dealer or re-seller that has been in the game for any length of time.

Emperical data.....crap...............test any two cars on two different days and you will always get differing results. The only data that counts is the seat in your pants fun and how much money you get back when it's over period.

.
I ask because this subject keeps coming up and its not clear at all that JCW cars are getting anymore money.

Besides, in about 2010 (just a few years away) you can pick up a 2002 MCS w/Alta CAI and Catback for $3,410 and a JCW for $3620

Woo hoo

I am totally bummed out since I ordered my car last Fall when only the glue-on JCW door sills were available. Now I see the lighted ones and feel like I am missing out on the full crap-tastic experience....

Guess I will just have to console myself with stroking my strut brace....

Aha! The very piece that started this whole shebang.

I would recommend that instead of stroking your bar, you console yourself by buying a pedigreed carbon fiber boot handle, or how about a refined set of carbon fiber mirror caps, or better yet, carbon-fiber hood scoop that has withstood a million miles of Antarctic and sub-Saharan testing.......

That's quite a lot of useless bling for the dough!

That would be WITHOUT the lighted door sills. Adding the illuminated door sills gets you an extra 33 cents.

I'll have you know that the Original, one and only, Pedigreed CF boot handles boost the overall price by 2010 but 59 cents. Far better than the aftermarket boot handles that cause the car to DROP 84 cents

Hey, who coined the term "Craptastic" anyway? I'd like to meet him and shake his hand.
