Was pulling my 2006 JCW apart looking for the source of a clunk. Many online mention the sway bar, among other things. Replacing the shocks and as many bushings as I can while I'm in there. This sway bar needs new bushings, the current ones are shot. I read in another thread that it is aftermarket due to the adjustment holes. Here are some photos, any thoughts?

A google search on the number on the photo brought up a number of possibilities; one of them being @WayMotorWorks 19mm sway bar. I note the grease zerks, which can also be seen in the photos of my sway bar.

How do I measure it, if it comes to that?

That's the Hsport Comp bar as it's 25mm hollow if you measure the diameter of the tube

Heck we may have installed that bar at an event or something as we use to do a lot of events in FL.

I know you have worked on this Mini, as it was a Georgia based one before I bought it. I would not be surprised if you installed it.

I was living in St. Louis at the time and drove down there to collect it; 3 years ago I believe. I've done 40,000 miles on it and it's been a great car. Now I live in Florida and drive all over the place for work in it. We have discussed this car in the past.

I now have a dumb question with respect to the sway bar:

Changing the end link attachment from the middle hole on the sway bar, to the inner hole, if my understanding of physics is good, stiffens the ride, right?

But does doing that change the camber or any alignment of the rear end? I can't really see those things happening, but my understanding of physics may be off a little...

Awesome Nik, thanks so much! It seemed odd to me that it would, but I've seen some really odd things that seem to defy all kinds of logic.

Now....to get rid of the dang clunk that is still in the back of the dang car!
