JCW Door Sills?

I've gotten the JCW, but my car's door sills are plain. My wife's 2004 "S" has door sills that say "Cooper S". I found JCW sills on the British site. Can they be gotten here in the states?

Yup.

You can get them through parts at your local dealer.

JCW sill plates

The part no. is '51 71 0 305 557'. You of course need to order 2 of these per car.

I have them on my car as well. They have adhesive on the back and are fairly easy to install if you want to do it yourself. I'll see if I can take some pics tomorrow.

With a discount from NAM sponsor Classic MINI in Ohio, I think I paid around $70 total for both sills.

Mike,

Did you remove the Cooper s sills before you attached the JCW sills? If so, what did you use to remove them without damaging the sill itself? I just received my JCW sills today!!

No need to remove the old sills. Just clean the surface will the solution that came in the box and stick the JCW sills right over the originals. I have had no problems and it is a lot easier than trying to remove the old ones.

I would remove the old ones for a cleaner installation. You can just heat it a bit with a hair dryer and then slipp a knife under there and slide it back lifting it upwards. Just be careful to not bend it and it will work perfectly

I decided to pull my old ones off, but I suppose you could place the JCW ones right over the top of the others. I think I taped the end of a screwdriver and gently pulled upwards, then ripped them off carefully. The most time consuming part was removing the leftover adhesive, but it came off quite nicely with Goo-Gone and a rag. Then I pulled the backing off the new sills and pressed them into place . The only problem is you can kinda feel the screw holes/caps underneath which on my car anyway don't fit quite flush.

I just installed mine this weekend, but as Mike said, you can see and feel the bumps from the screws holding on the plastic molding. If I had to do it over again, I would just stick them over the old ones. Any suggestions for a fix?

My dealer wants around $450 to install these, so I told them to to cancel the order. I'm getting a Cooper S, but was wondering what the S sills looked like (I haven't seen them) before I decide to order the JCW sills from someone else and install them myself.

$450 ? Now I think things have gone WAY out of bounds. Heck, why not an even $1000? After all, it does say JCW doesn't it?

My dealer quoted me the same when I was finalizing the purchase... My sales associate told them to forget it and I will install them soon.
