eBay intercooler- R56 JCW

Hey everyone- yes, I understand the pro/cons of an eBay intercooler and that topic has been covered. I'd like to know which ones ("brand" or eBay link) fit on the JCW? Earlier threads seem to touch on the topic, but I'd like to be sure before spending the time and money. Thanks!

On my 09 I’m running a G+ intercooler that can be found on eBay and Amazon, this is the one that you want to find. It’s the knock off you want. If you hunt for G+ on here there should be some post that have the amazon links in them.

Make sure you'll get one that fits your year. I had to dremel the heck out of my bumper and use the cutting wheel on some welded nuts that didn't make it fit.

Basically if you have a pre-LCI, stay away from the competition intercoolers or whatnot they are called. If you read somewhere it's easily modified: not.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm trying to avoid; thanks for the tip

There is https://www.ebay.com/itm/For-Mini-Co...0/153289737710 which is I believe the Wagner clone (and what I got for a 09 JCW - not sure what year you have, but getting that thing into the bumper and properly mounter is painful). Possible that the original Wagner is easier on the modding part.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gplus-Front...2/233352045379 fit for the pre-LCI cars. They look slimmer, but not sure what a copy of those are.

I’ll give a second vote for the G+ intercooler. Been running mine for the past 3 years, and the only issue is flaking paint on the front. Next time I have the bumper off, I’ll need to spray it with some flat black...

I bought the rev9 off ebay and fits perfect. I finally was able to log temps today and it was 60 outside and when in boost my intake temps were 66-69. Pretty shocked for it being a ebay intercooler

Great to hear, I've got mine delivering today. Just gotta find some time to install it. Did you get a tune at the same time? Or will you do that in the future?

I’m still running stock tune with all the mods in my signature. I have a BSH lower engine mount and catless downpipe on the way, then I will have the painful task of saving up for that stage 2 RPM tune from Mario. I know I’ll throw a stupid p0420 code because of no cat, but I throw it now anyway so might as well just get rid of the damn thing.

I don't have a tune yet. I have the rev9 fmic along with the pipes. I also have a NM intake and hood scoop opened up. I just got to work and on the highway it was 44 degrees outside and intake temps were 44. Runs super smooth after the swap to larger core to. I will be getting a tork tune soon and stuffed turbo with downpipe in the next couple weeks and I will log then again.
