JCW Issue with JCW Pro Exhaust

Can you check your paperwork from that dealer visit and post the TSB/campaign program number? It should be on your invoice you received for your visit to the dealer. When I was just at the dealer they wouldn't even look at the BT module without charging me a diagnostic fee. If I had a TSB number they wouldn't have a choice.

I finally had the dealer evaluate my flap closing issue and they immediately determined the blue tooth module to be faulty. I’m not sure if the tech was truly able to prove this through troubleshooting or they referenced some sort of TSB, but they acknowledged there was definitely a problem. I’ll be able to report back in a week after replaced unit is installed.

Further research on the issue may have sprung me a lead. I have reached out to BMW for a confirmation of my suspicions. If you are having the issue with the exhaust, can you find the RA number on the module and PM it to me. its on one of the white stickers, bottom right corner. format is a 2 digit number with a letter, then a space, then a letter and two digit number.
Cheers,
Rich

receiver replacement permanently fixed my issue
Here is the invoice from my PuMA case. I brought my car in a number of times, but they were unable to duplicate the flap closing on its own. I guess I was getting more Bluetooth interference downtown where I live. They replaced the receiver, and I haven't had a single event since even with iPhone X and Apple Watch connected to the in-car Bluetooth. It's been almost a year and 3,000 miles since the receiver was replaced. The invoice says they checked the receiver sticker for firmware identification, and found it to be outdated. I'll take a picture of the sticker later today.
I removed the PDF since my Sharpie didn't make the redactions dark enough. I'll see about just posting the pertinent info later. I tried to see the label sticker on the new receiver, but didn't find a sticker on it in the boot. Regardless, you just should need to point out to the dealer that they should check the firmware version on your receiver to see if it's out of date, and replace the receiver if it is because that solved the issue for me. It's worked the way it should have for nearly a year now.

There was no TSB, but the advisor said he wouldn’t be surprised if they released one soon. I had a new module installed and now the flap stays open 100% of the time. I can’t believe it - three years with this exhaust and it finally works the way it should 😂

If it's not opening at all, the issue is something other than bluetooth interference. That only causes the flap to close. Something must not be wired right, or it could be the remote isn't paired with the box. There is a button to reset it, I believe- the info is on the instruction sheet.

Since I posted on the 18th it has been functioning normal so it must have been some form of interference. I do not run any devices with bluetooth turned on so who knows what happened.
