They have an office in CA. Splitter is $400 and you have to pay for shipping from Germany. They estimated $100+ shipping.
I was thinking of one for myself, but hate to spring for the shipping. Guy in CA didn't sound like he wanted my business anyway.

I've voiced my opinion on this splitter before. It's a dirt trap basically.

I would consider this one. It is a true piece of design not an afterthought.

Thoughts?

I must admit, the "look" makes me drool! But, I still go back to "practicality"...for what that thing must cost, you better have deep pockets and money to throw away, because it "will" get damaged at some point!

Yes. Deep pockets is right! $1600US. It is CF and it is not really that much lower than the
AC one but when it gets hit...OMG, it would make you cry...but in the mean time you have the nicest car in town!

$1600....hmmm. It is gorgeous & appears to be well engineered for sure...maybe if you live in flatland with good roads like Florida (where I used to live) I'd give it a whirl. My problem is if I went that route, I couldn't stop! Then would come cf rear diffuser, cf rear wing, cf mirrors & bonnet scoop.....etc. Ha! Still stock for now. I do love the new JCW! :-)

That looks so sharp.

One issue that I noticed from the photos from japan and the local distributer is that the gap between the spoiler and the existing from fender skirt seems wider than stock and does not appear parallel like stock. Any chance you could comment on this and maybe show a close picture of this junction?

This design will trap dirt, just not as much as the ACS. Compressed air can easily take care of the dirt. I think both spitters are overpriced.

I must agree on the value for money. I can buy a set of nice aftermarket rims for less than the 3ddesign splitter. That being said..they must only make very few off these. I bet if they were for a Honda civic they would be way cheaper. Custom parts for a fairly rare car will always cost more than you would think...and this is way more complicated to make than an exhaust system.

Yes lowered on the JCW/KW V1 coilovers.

As far as any gaps, I don't notice anything where the lip connects to the JCW aero body parts. At least, nothing stands out enough to bother me.

These have a 2 to 3 month order time. I'm seeing what the price would be if 5 of us bought them.....just out of interest!
Watch this space.

I won't buy one. Besides I have a totally different JCW model. Mine has that edge/lip on the bottom but it's the dull black plastic like the fender skirts not painted. It does look pretty sharp though.

Iam quite happy with the "Schnitzer-Sword". Besides that there is no 2nd material used, carbon or cfk, it fits 100 % to the OE look. Further it is TÜV approved, meaning i can add it legally to the car.

Photos in better light would help....I can't really see the splitter very well in those shots. Could see better on my desktop...thanks! I think that looks nice!

I believe that Andreas Hartmann at AC Schnitzer USA has a splitter in stock. Meaning the total cost is $400. If you speak nicely it will not cost much to ship. I've thought long and hard and have decided that this is the way to go. Although the 3DDesign is superior looking - being CF makes it completely impractical as it is impossible to repair. I can live with the JCW Pro Splitters and the Schnitzer combo. I am going to have to epoxy in the PDC sensor into the Pro splitters ....somehow!

I thought your mate was shipping you a 3DD one directly from Japan?

If they have more than one I would be very interested. Let me know and if feasible we can work out the details.

Still ended up being too expensive $1150 landed. CF is not a forgiving material and I would have to mount the PDF sensors - so unfortunately not a practical solution.
