Went looking for a clean '06 and ended up with this.
I was longing to get back to an R53. I really wanted something with low miles and a 6 speed. Everything else was negotiable though I was really looking for less rather than more, until I ran into this.
It's a 2006 Factory JCW with 25K miles on it. One owner. Purchased from Mini of SF. No accidents. No modifications. Car was listed as a 2006 MCS in Novato. I asked for pics from the dealer and they sent me some cell phone pics. I immediately put down a deposit and decoded the vin to determine it was factory.
It took about 10 days to see the deal through as the car was originally overheating and the dealer thought it might have engine damage. They thought the previous owner might have turned it in knowing it didn't have an issue but that sounded weird to me given it's super clean history. Turns out it just had a cracked hose that needed repair. That got all tidied up, they put on 4 new tires and I paid the asking price of $11991. No reason to beat them up when it was probably priced low. They were nice enough to not throw me off the deal once they learned it was probably worth more so I have to say that was very professional
Just got it detailed. A few nicks here and there but in super great condition for it's age. I suspect the past owner lived near the water in/around Marin as it has some pitting on the chrome. I'll address this over time but for now...it's time to get driven. It's a secondary car paired with an LR4. Was a great 90 minute drive home yesterday and has been super fun this weekend. Hope to keep it for some time.
Wow, that's a great looking MINI! Any more pics of the interior, and what is the red material on the seats?
As others have said it's a leather outer with red (kind of a blood red) middle insert. I really don't like the standard leather most Mini's offered but loved the leatherette. This is a pretty good secondary choice to leatherette.
