I saw an installed set at my dealer yesterday and they look good. They changed the design of the covers it looks like too. They were white with the MINI logo in black lettering and there was a black stylized "X" across the surface too.

I saw this them also installed and they looked nice. I got a quote for $1250 installed. I didn't pull the trigger because It would have covered the JCW badge.

Also NHcountryman I value your option probably the most. Tell me what you think on my recent post my friend.

Been reviewing LED driving light options from VIP, PIAA and think I will wait to see if I can get a deal on the MINI ones...... Have HELLA Blacks on my current 2011 CountryMan and love the look, but think they may not have as much appeal on my 2015 F56JCW with LED lites......

The Big Newt is not impressed. Especially for $1300. Just get some fake ones with the covers on them.

I wonder for the extra $200+ if these are better than the standard halogens with the PIA bulbs (correct colour). I honestly think the whole LED thing is over blown for the price. Maybe the LED's are twice as bright? then I could see it being more than a bling thing.
I've had the Hallo OEM's on my last 2 cars. Always installed myself.

Love my LEDs, couldn't imagine my car w/o them! I've seen many HIDs xenon, none compare the "purple" hue that these LEDs put out, pure brilliant

maytulip32. Don't see those on the site. Are they being added by your dealer? I know they are available on lessor models.

Do make sure the driving lights are the LED variety if you have the LED headlights. I got the standard (halogen) driving lights on my 14' MCS and the color difference is ghastly with both the driving and the headlights on. I've purchased a set of PIAA LED driving lights and they'll be going on my 16' JCW when she arrives!

Papa - I added the PIAA bulbs to my MINI driving lights - matched perfectly colour wise.
When you say you are adding PIAA LED's are these aftermarket? If so you have a link?

I contacted my MA and specifically asked him to add the LED Driving Lights to my build. I originally had the other ones. I think they are about $1050 when installed by the factory but not sure.

GK,

I purchased a set of the PIAA LP550, 5" LED driving lights with 6000K bulbs. They ran just over $400 for the pair. I'll still need to buy the brackets but the whole deal will be far cheaper than the $1300 I paid the dealer to install the ugly Halogens on my MCS. I've followed your excellent install sequence and I'll wire these so I can have them on whenever I want - not the dealer set up which can only come on when the hi beams are on!

They are expensive due to the wiring up of them. From talking to the parts guys when I picked up my F56, they have had trouble with the F55/56 Rally Lights. Lots of splicing on this model that was not required for the earlier models, the kit if I remember is almost 900 bucks on its own, and installation can take up to 4 hours.

Pretty much,

If you have LED headlights you will need that extra switch and install it.

Thank you, that makes sense, I am gauging if I want to tackle it or not. Adding PIAA's to my R56 was a lot easier than this. This will take some planning to make sure I do it right, the mounts and some of the wiring is nice and easy, it is the drilling into the steering column that I am not to happy about.

Just picked up the car on Sept 5th so not installed yet. I'm in the process of installing all the parts I took off my MCS before trading it. I wish there was a better place to mount them than with the Mini brackets/location. I'd prefer them a bit closer to center. But I sure wished I'd had something extra in the fog these past few mornings (Mini couldn't have figured out to keep the fog lights on the JCW and stuff a extra oil cooler in there?).

After reading the instructions, I like that no coding needs to be done, but it seems like a mess with the wiring and all the splices you need to make the lights to work with flash to pass and high beams. The rest seems easy, even the drilling that you need to do for the light mounts and switch.
