Active Driving Assistant

I just ordered my JCW 6MT and saw active driving assist on the forums. It sounds like something my MA was talking about being on the JCW standard but I don't see anything about it. Has anyone else?

Not standard, even on the JCW. You need the Fully Loaded package and then it's an extra $1000 on top of that.

It is:
- Pedestrian/collision detection and limited brake intervention at city speeds
- Automatic high beams
- Speed limit sign detection (it reads speed limit signs and displays the current speed limit on your instrument cluster or HUD, if equipped)
- Distance based cruise control

There is not a fully loaded package on the JCW.

Right you are...sorry.

On the JCW, the Park Assist package is the requirement.

There is also a feature that causes the steering wheel to vibrate when you get close to the lane markings. That put me off buying this feature in my build. Think the other things might be helpful but I would rather spend $1000 on something else...

Sadly, this is a BMW feature, not a MINI one. MINI does not have lane departure warnings or wheel vibration.

Sirius. Interesting you say no lane assist. My MA is claiming it is so....I'm sure they are wrong but he claimed he drove a MCS F56 with this feature. I'm in Canada.

Thanks Sirius!!! I sent the info to my MA let's see if they can do it. This is my third Mini only one MA I dealt with knew more about the car than I did. The first one I bought in 2009 the MA swore there was no spare tire which was wrong. SMH!! Have a great day!!

I've driven 2-3 different F56/F55s with driver assist - no lane departure or wheel vibration. I have driven BMWs with this feature.

I still come across MAs that think there are two turbos on the F56... oy...

Sirius. That's troubling. He seems like a smart guy too. I have bought 2 cars from him!
We know that options are country dependent do you not think it possible that Canadian could be different? We don't have the traffic info on navigation systems on BMW or Mini's up here and we have had daytime running lights for 30 years....

True and I admit, I have not driven or seen a Canadian spec MINI, and I do still find regional differences between MINIs, but these have always been tweaks on existing features (DRLs switchable or not, windows rolling down halfway for comfort entry in the UK, passenger air bag controllable via a switch). Aside from that, there is no mention of this in any of the manuals or sources I've come across (including Canadian Driver Assist owners), or on parts diagrams, or anywhere.

I can only guess he was mistaken and if he wasn't, tell him we'd all love to see that feature in action! I like being wrong in those cases!
