First post, 13' JCW hardtop upgrade advice

Hello all, this is my very first post on here. I have a 2013 JCW hardtop, it's a factory JCW not a kit. Although i love the car i feel like it could use a bump in power. I guess i am becoming a speed addict. i have googled all kinds of stuff but have gotten conflicting information so i figure this might be the right place.

What i am wondering is what are some of the best upgrades and is there a specific order they should be done. At first i was considering doing the work myself but i now realize i will never have the time and I am not all that handy anyway. Is there a general concesus on what some of the best aftermarket part brands are. Do you buy online and have a mechanic install the parts or will that **** of the mechanic.

In my research i find a lot of info on upgrading the MCS but not so much on the factory JCW. Have any of you had an ECU remap on the JCW and if so what kind of results do you see?

P.S.

This car is used as a daily driver so the one thing I don't want to do is make ride any harder. The pot holes where i love are big enough to fit a Countryman in!!! I am getting good at dodging them though.

I used Racechip Pro to remap my 12 jcw coupe. There is significant different when i drive. By number it increases 50hp.

After chipped my car, i find out my stock run crap tire spins a lot. There isnt enough grip when i drive hard, so my next upgrade would be a set of proper performance tires

Thanks, after 80 views and no responses I was about to give up. 50hp is a huge increase. Do you feel that the factory JCW suspension can handle it? I don't have the sports suspension on mine.

Manic can tune N18 over OBD II. I had my 2012 MCS tuned a month or so ago when he was on the east coast. Maybe try Redline Speed Worx in NJ as that is where Manic did the US beta tuning and they may become a tuner for Manic. Hope this helps.

Try JB+ and a drop in filter, you won't regret it.

I agree with FIRESTARTER...I have the same car, JB+ and a BMC air filter with the stock air box and you'll love this car. If you want to go further delete the second cat and resonator !

If you have any more questions feel free to PM me.

Thanks Evil4130 and Firestarter. One question. Does the chip have to be removed to pass inspection?

No, but if it makes you feel better it takes the same amount of time to install as it does to remove which is <1 min.

With a good set of tires and short shift kit (if you have a manual) then call it a day.

Is there a JB+ specifically made for JCW or is it the same JB+ used for the S? I happen to have one from our JCS from the same year (2011).

The JB+ will give you that bump in power you desire, adding intakes and exhaust do nothing without a tune.

The best 2 mods for seat of pants thrills, minimal cash ($500) investment, DIY install (both mods total minutes) -- JB and a Sprintbooster. Don't bother with any other stuff - just go out and drive it BADASS.
