JCW GarageInterested in John Cooper Works (JCW) parts for your 1st Generation MINI? This is where JCW upgrades and accessories for the Cooper (R50), Cabrio (R52), and Cooper S (R53) MINIs are discussed.
Stopped by my dealer's today and noticed a MC equipped with a JCW kit. Apparently the dealer just got the kit less than a month ago. The kit bumps up the MC horsepower from 115 to about 145 and costs $4100 and approx 8 hours of labor time.
"It not rocket science to figure that paying $3k more for a MCS is better deal."
True, but I'm not one for badges. I don't even have a Dinan badge on my car eventhough I have the points for one. I'm sure a JCW badge can always be bought on EBay if someone really wanted one. After all, the badge gives an extra 15 hp.
Brecht has it for $4995. Aren't the MCS kits (with a new supercharger) that much? As for the MCS is a better deal, some folks do not like forced induction.
