JCW Carbon Fiber E-Brake Install Help

I have searched and searched and am reaching out for someone who can point me to the right threads.

I have a 2013 R56 JCW and am replacing the e-brake handle with the JCW CF part:

Some say you need to glue the handle. No glue comes with it. Advice?

What is the easiest way to remove the original handle?

Any additional recommendations on removing the boot and zip tying the boot to the new handle?

I guess glue is the answer. Any recommendations of the best type of glue/silicon?

I do not want to tape it due to heat.

MINI has a special glue that you will need to use. It allows the e-brake handle to be removed in the future if you don't want to reverse the installation

If I recall correctly, it is a form of loc-tite. I can see if I still have the glue from when I installed mine.

I was thinking about using E6000 adhesive as recommended on another thread.

I found a thread online, and what a lot of people did (Myself included) was take the old handbrake lever off (Pull straight out), take tape, (either electrical or masking tape) and wrap at least one tight wrap around the metal handle to slightly build up the diameter. Then take your JCW handbrake and push / twist it on. I had to play around with it, I think I ended up using masking tape because the electrical tape was too sticky and I wasn't able to push the handle on. I know it sounds kind of mickey mouse, but it works really well - My handle is solid, I've had it on for a couple months now and it won't budge, but if I ever want to take it back off for any reason, I know it's possible. Hope this helps!

Even the Mini dealer recommends taping so you can later remove if necessary. They use a felt backed foam tape.
