How do i make my mcs r56 pop/gurgle

I have a 2008 mcs and want to make the exhaust sound a little louder and perhaps gurgle/pop like the jcw exhaust. Is it possible to make it sound like jwc exhaust by removing or altering the resonator?

I don't think the alta tune does it. The factory mini tune is programmed to not completely close the injectors when you lift off the gas pedal. This releases very small amounts of fuel into the hot exhaust which ignites in the exhaust creating the "pop". I'm not sure why the alta tune doesn't do it. Our 2010 fJCW seems to do it more after driven hard and the exhaust is hot. My custom tuned STI pops on decel.

I have a 2012 R58 JCW, had the resonator deleted about three months

ago and now it sounds like it should at least to my thinking (and no looks

from the cops...yet!).

How much did it cost to get it removed?

Looking back I think it was around $100.00 but that included taking the

whole system off the car and then welding in a section of stainless where

the resonator was. Worth every penny.

Remember, the 2011+ MCS' with the N18 engine were programmed to pop and burble when in sport mode. Not something I've heard done on a 2007-2010 MCS without a custom tune. Not sure that deleting the resonator will accomplish the pops but it will probably sound much more aggressive.

Keep the resonator and delete the muffler. I did a resonator delete and it didn't' do much at all.

However, the sound is not the point. I believe what it is intended to do is help reduce turbo lag.

I have to agree. I just had this done and thought it would be a bit louder. Hopefully some catless DP's will get the sound I'm seeking.

4 cylinders suck, get a V8 or V12

Just kidding, but they don't sound great unless built by Ferrari with open exhaust,
