JCW Badge Location? Left or Right side?

My 03' MCS had the JCW kit installed on it, but never got the rear JCW badge. According to the Mini installation manual for the 03' JCW kit, it shows the JCW badge to be added to the rear hatch on the left side....but all of the pictures I see on the net show it on the rear right side.

What's the proper location?

Unless I'm missing something, all 1st gen JCW's have the badge on the left/driver's side. Second gen car is a different story. (My 06 JCW cabriolet has it on the left and every 1st gen JCW I've ever seen has it in the same location.

I'd simply locate a JCW car and take some measurements. And don't forget to do a super cleaning job of the paint where the emblem goes. Then rewax the area after the badge has been in place a day or so.

Sounds like the left side is correct... I figured it was. Like I said, the jcw kit manual calls for it on the left.

Thanks for all the info

Here is the link to the JCW Kit install manual….if you look at pages 10 and 11, it shows where to install the JCW badges.

While you're at it, you might consider removing the CooperS badge from the rear. It's easy to do. Removing the Mini emblems, front and rear, leaves a couple holes, though.
