JCW Stage 1 kit /Manifold
I had the JCW Stage 1 kit installed today on my Clubman, and the dealer said he had not see the new manifold (or any for that matter) in previous kits. He stated that this one was made of Stainless Steel and the original one was mad of cast iron. That in itself was not a cause for alarm, what was was the new increase in the labor charge to install it . They wanted 6 hours in addition to the original 3.5 , because they said they had to remove the turbo to perform the install. I have not read of any one having come across this in this forum, but I could be wrong. My questions are
is this truly stainless steel ,
do they have to do all that labor to install it.

I would be grateful if Mr. way could respond since he sells the same kit , but for the hardtop. I would greatly value his opinion and anyone else that is much more mechanically inclined than I.

I appreciate your feedback

Perhaps you can paste into Notepad, strip out all the unecessary text coding and then paste into your post. Its rather difficult to read. As far as the manifold install. I can't comment on the work effort, but I would ask your dealer to show you the MINI installation instructions for the S1 kit. It should specify every step of the way how much labor to allocate. Maybe because your dealer was new to the process he was learning at the same time, and you shouldnt have to pay for that.
For instance here's the PDF the dealer uses for installing the pre-2011 JCW Stage 1 kits http://motoringfile.com/howto/JCW_De...talled_Kit.pdf

I did some additional searches and found sevral that stated this manifold was for EU cars should not hve been included in US cars. Also found several quotes on the expense to have it installed, so it sounds like my dealer was being upfront with me. Sorry for the intrusion.
Thanks,
Spencer
