2011 JCW Painted Fenders

Hello All!

I've recently become a proud owner of a 2011 JCW (Midnight Black w/ Red Top and Side Mirrors) affectionately named Ethel Louise.

I absolutely am in love with the look of the car (and even morseo with the performance) but am looking at maybe swapping out the plasticky flat black fenders and trim with painted pieces.

Anyone have a place/vendor which have these pieces? Im new to the Mini world and am learning something new everyday...Thanks in advance for the help!

The plastic fenders can be painted by a body shop, many people have. On the other hand, many folks think that the contrast of the black plastic fenders is part of the MINI look. I'm in the latter group, just my opinion, but I think painted fenders detract from the style.

I love painted fenders. Seems like way too much work/money to sand everything down good enough to paint.

Anyone know if you can buy just the fenders painted from the dealer instead of having to order the entire kit?

I think the arches look so much better painted. I had a local body shop paint the arches along with the body kit on my first three MINIs. We always lower our cars so Ithink the painted arches help the look. I have a 2011 JCW that I ordered that is on it's way across the pond. I ordered it with the JCW body kit and arches to be painted black like the rest of the car. They will be painted when it reaches the port before it gets delivered to the dealership.

Yes. There are two part numbers for each of the 4 fender flares or wheel arches. One type is that textured matte black arch. The other is smooth and meant to be painted.

I prefer the textured matte black arches. I went pretty far to achieve that look... going from the factory aero kit with its painted arches to the JCW aero kit with the textured matte black arches that is on my car now.

I understand where you're coming from especially if the body color of the car is something other than Black.

However, since my car is black, the matte black textured fenders look kinda outta place and off.

Just take them to a body shop, the textured finish is able to be sanded and painted to your liking

Any idea how much the smooth set is? Wonder if I could find a astroblack or jet black painted arches from the factory aero kits.... mmm

Each wheel arch is about $60 from the dealer.
