JCW JCW exhaust for 2010 MCS...
JCW exhaust for 2010 MCS...
After a lot of "looking" around...I am thinking that the best exhuast system to use for my 2010 MCS is the JCW version. By this, I am talking about the center section that uses a single, long resonator to reduce drone found in the version with the catalyst. If I am correct in looking at realoem, I believe that all that I need for the conversion are the following:
P/N 18 30 7 587 361
P/N 18 30 7 587 363
The clamps, hangers etc appear to be totally interchangable. Can anybody who has done this confirm? Thanks!

I only installed the rear muffler, but kind of wish I did the front too. Drone isn't too bad, but it is louder than stock in the cabin at speed. Sounds a little wimpy, may need a downpipe too! Otherwise, yes, that's all you need. You need a clamp if you're not going somewhere to get it welded.

You need the clamp if you order it as 2 pieces, since it comes welded from the factory as 1 piece when it's on the car. If you take it to a muffler shop for install, you don't need it since they can weld it for ya.
Gotcha! I planned on doing this myself. Would anybody, including yourself, happen to know what the clamp p/n would be that I need?

There's 2 p/n's with different prices, both should work. May want to ask Morristown MINI or whoever you buy from what the differences are; 18307525639 and 18307560778.

Also looks like you need a clamp for the front, dunno if you can reuse the stock one if applicable:

hmmm...ok. I presumed that these clamps were already on the stock MCS exhaust system? My stock exhaust system must be welded on the MCS? That would explain my confusion. Same spec listed (55mm) so I wonder why the p/n's are different?
On a sort of separate note, is there a JCW catalog or something where one can see all of the JCW offerings? I assume a dealer is the place to get all JCW stuff?

picked up the clamp and rear section of the exhaust today. The front half is on it's way from Germany. I am very impressed with the back half of this exhaust system...it looks and feels very nice in hand. The clamp is very nice as well. It appears that there will be zero cutting/trimming required on either piece from what I can tell. The clamp appears to have 50/50 engagement of the pipes. The camp is robust and has teeth/jaws to view full engagement. I will post once the front half is in and it's ready to go on. I assume, though, I might need to actually get the car first.
Should be here in two weeks.

I was looking at the RealOEM.com website and wonder which of the two exhaust front section is the factory JCW version?

Second, the rear muffler appears to be the same picture for both the Cooper S and the JCW. What is the difference other than part number?

Installed the full exhaust yesterday on my lift. Very straightforward and quite simply actually. I'd say it's a 2 star on a scale of 5. With 2 people/sets of hands...I'd say 1 star. I haven't really driven the car much but up the road and I can tell zero difference from the stock exhaust. It's very mild and quiet. I am assuming that the tone changes up around 4K RPM and higher. I am still in break-in mode though. The car only has 150 miles on it.
Pics and further review to come.

Factory JCW Exhaust?
I have been trolling through this thread and cant seem to find a reference to the part number on the JCW factory exhaust shown in the photo below.
I believe the part number is # 7585282, yet i cant find it on realoem or any other part sites.
Does anyone know if the factory exhaust has a special part number, and out of factory parts have different?

If its the two piece system, then it must have been a retro fit. As im pretty sure that the factory JCW comes as a one piece.
Its not worth $250 thats for sure. You can get brand new ones for only $30 more shipped from the UK.
