I think it was just the back box.
STi2Mini: Was it cut from the front section, or is it the exhaust from the tuning kit?
I couldn't pull the trigger on $250, when it wasn't exactly what i wanted. Post up a video of it installed. I would love to hear what it sounds like on MCS.

It was from a factory JCW, not a Tuning Kit.

Was the front of the car damaged?
I cant think of another good reason to cut the back away from the front.

I'm guessing the purchase didn't work out, seeing as it was re-posted on eBay.

Yeah, first he said it had to be shipped via Greyhound so I decided to opt out. Thankfully I did because it is a rip off for that price. I found it brand new for $255 at DDM Tuning. I offered him $175 shipped and sent him the link to the website, so we'll see what happens.

I am still in break-in mode though. The car only has 150 miles on it.

Pics and further review to come.
Any updates on how this worked out for you? Sound change over time?

Also...can you confirm your part numbers:

18 307 587 361
18 307 587 363

And the only clamp that you needed was:

18 307 560 778

The other bushings, hangers and clamps can all be reused?

Thanks!

Scott,
Sorry for the delay in response. I have an issue with my M3 and it's been taking up a lot of my spare time. The JCW exhaust has not really changed tone at all. To be honest...this exhaust is VERY, VERY quiet. The part numbers are as you state above. My receipt book is at the office but I those are the parts that I used and it's clear that they are the correct parts. The stock hangers are re-used and the clamp that joins the downpipe to the front section inlet pipe is re-used. The clamp that joins the two halves of the system together if a very, very nice clamp. It is high quality, easy to work with and has a nice set of locking jaws. This is an easy job for even a novice. I plan to take some pictures of the system once my M3 is off the lift. I am having a hell of a time diagnosing the issue with the car.

Again...I apologize for the delay.

About a month and a half ago, I placed an order on DDM Tuning for the factory JCW front muffler (18 307 587 361), factory JCW rear muffler (18 307 587 363), and clamp (18 307 560 778). They have excellent prices, but unfortunately, the only thing I received was the clamp. They informed that the both exhaust parts were no longer available from Germany. I don't know why, but who am I to argue, right?

Just my luck, someone local was selling a brand new factory JCW rear muffler (18 307 587 363) on Craigslist. I picked it up and installed it on my R57S convertible using the clamp (18 307 560 778). There's a line on the one piece stock S exhaust pipe indicating the place that you need cut. From there, you take out the old rear section, fit the new rear section, and clamp down. VERY EASY.

Sound is okay, more aggressive than the stock S muffler, but definitely not night/day difference. No drone. All in all, I bet most people wouldn't notice the difference. Also, was hoping for lots of pop and burble, but found out that p&b is actually part of the ecu tuning.

At first, I was thinking of eventually getting the front muffler (18 307 587 361) to complete the system, but not sure if I want to spend the money right now. I'd expect the longer resonator on the JCW front muffer to quiet down the exhaust, but it already sounds good to me. Also, may get a tiny bit of extra performance from JCW front muffler (no extra cat) and maybe a bit of p&b, but I'm thinking the extra cat on the S front muffler will help me pass SMOG if ever I decide to get an aggressive ECU tune.

As of a couple days ago it was. It has to come from Germany though. They have 6 in stock there. Well 5, mine is on order. Sucks too because when I put my order in the US had one in stock. Someone got to it before me
