2010 JCW on the way....thanks!

Just wanted to say thanks to those that run and contribute to this site.....awesome resource

My story...
I've needed a new ride for awhile....sold my Jeep (pos), and started shopping around. I do lots of outdoorsey stuff and was lookin for somethin eco-sporty to get me to the trailheads (mountain bike and hiking gear). I narrowed my search and took an MCS out for a spin and was impressed.....then, drove the JCW and just knew I'd regret it if I didn't do it.

The problem was the cost difference....I'm a workin stiff.....so I decided too be patient and save up the dough and get the car I wanted (for a change).

I been riding my motorcycle and mountain bike everywhere for about 4 months....the day came on Saturday and I placed an order for a 2010 DS JCW hardtop.....black sport stripes, aero kit, conv. and Prem. packages...chrome line, xenons, rear fogs, comfort bluetooth dealy in the armrest, and a few other doodads...

In the end, I had to wait just to get to the waiting period.....but I think I'll be happier.

I got a few hundred off the aero kit.....they seem to be more willing to discount the port addons than the car.

Anyways, thanks again for letting me lurk around here and get some ideas.....this is like it, but with the black sport stripes...

I'll update later

Thanks fellas...I made the deal on Sat. and got an email today with a production number, and all it says in the lounge is "on order"....so I think its still too early for a production week.

My biggest challenge will be makin' it through the few cold/wet days we get down here in S. Texas on my motorcycle.

I've waited this long....

Back in September MINIFunDrives had a rally from Bandera to Kerrville taking the roads less travelled. We had 36 MINI's that day, huge fun. Check out their site and keep an eye out for next year's version. Don't know if you race your mtb or not, but if you do look me up at any of the TMBRA races, I've got the solid red JCW.

Haven't raced.....yet, and not sure I'm good enough to enter anything. I'd love to maybe give one a try...
I live near OP Schnabel in SA, but my favorite is Flat Rock.

Is hunting season over yet.....ugh...

btw...what rack are you using?

Thanks....yep, a friend of mine runs a tint shop (another mtb'r)....I knew he'd take good car of my car.

By far the best performing, and nicest car I've ever owned.....patience paid off.

I've read several post about the loud tires (runflats).....but they never bothered me, (but I'm coming from a Jeep).
Really, no complaints

Did I tell you I was jealous? HA, very nice car. I wanted the JCW but I also wanted to buy a used MINI and pay only 20k for it! I might add the JCW tuning and aero kit to my car but it just will not be the same as the factory JCW kit.

I really need to take better pics, sorry

My interior is piano black with the standard black and dark grey leatherette....I added the chrome line, and the conv. and prem. package..... not the winter stuff (I'm in San Antonio....).
