JCW brake cooling duct kit

The kit is said to be compatible with the Aero bumper only. Does anybody know why it can't fit on the standard (non-aero) bumper ?

I wonder if it can be made to fit somehow...

It's made to just clip on the opening of the JCW aero lower grill. It's a larger opening. I'm sure with a dremel and some imagination, you could probably make it work. I had to do some dremel work on it with the JCW aero bumper to get it to fit around the Alta IC...AND work with the M7 Ultimate Grill....but it looks great. I have pictures I will post soon.

That's what I'm thinking.

The kit is relatively inexpensive, compared to going down the aero kit road. Besides, I like the look of the standard bumper better !

Personally I don't think the brake duct is worth any amount of extra money. It's looks like it is next to useless on the backside.

If you get it free with an aerokit upgrade fine, but I wouldn't pay extra for it.

Has anyone tried to build their own yet? I seem to remember a picture of the Challenge cars using the fog lights and 3" or 4" standard brake duct hoses. Could the aerokit ducts be used with better piping? I've seen one in person and I didn't have much time to check it out. I did see the lousy duct in the wheel well.

I looked into this quickly last year. On one side, can't remember it is the left of right, but right behind the fog light there is a tank/reservoir of some sort.

Indeed, that duct gets so tiny by the time it reaches the backside. It doesn't look like it's doing much to cool off the brakes.
