New 02 JCW Owner :)

Heya :wavey:

Wanted to drop in and say hello. I recently picked up a 2002 S JCW in a trade. I figured I may as well sign up on the forums

At this point my plans for the car are simple -- weekend auto-x and occasional track duty. I daily drive a 2004 STi so for the most part the cooper should see little street time. However, after driving the mini and leaving the STi in the garage for about a week I did seriously consider moving the subaru over and keeping the mini for daily use

The roof does need work...a good bit of it. Fortunately it does not appear that the paint is all that damaged (vinyl is dead). I may have it sprayed gloss black to match the pillars. If I do go this route, I will have to have the mirrors, scoop, etc painted to match as well. Decisions, decisions, decisions!

Modifications list coming soon

Cheers,
Alex

Congratulations, you're going to love it!

Can't wait to see what you have in store for it (modifications wise) *Caution: once you start modding it's hard to stop *

Photo of the STi from a auto-x event I do not seem to have any current photos for whatever reason...

I own a custom interior shop here in Atlanta, and odds are we will roll some nice Alcantara goodies into the Mini. We've been making steering wheels (amongst full interior setups) for the Subaru, BMW, and S2000 for a while now. Here's a photo of the Alcantara wheel we made for the STi. Talk about super grippy :D I cannot wait to get the chance to make one for the Mini...

Wow, thats nice. Can you do an oem 06 MINI wheel like that in black and red? Also, a shift and e-brake gaitor in alcantara with that red stitching?
Will send PM

Wow, damn near 2 years since my last post. Amazing how fast time goes by sometimes

Just finished new seats for my Mini. They're a combination of genuine Italian leather in cardinal red and genuine Alcantara in perforated pure black. What do you all think?

Cheers,
Alex
