ok i jus got a 04 mc40 it is my first mini i think it might have a jcw kit i am not sure. it says john cooper works on the exhaust and has a jcw badge on the air box and on its carbon fiber dashboard. it has no grill badge or intercooler plate. i think it might not have the grill badge b/c the mc 40 has a diffrent grill. is this a jcw kit ? if so how much hp and what else is in the kit?could you jus get the exhaust and airbox or do u need to get the whole kit?

Yes, you could get the exhaust and the airbox seperately.

If this were a JCW there'd be a badge on the front and back and inside on the engine somewhere.

 

There would also be a JCW kit number mounted on the engine and appropriate paperwork.

 

I'd look for this...i removed all my JCW badges.

I've seen this before, also on an 04, had exhaust and supercharger but no JCW airbox, i dont think it had the tuning kit plate on the valve cover, but not to sure on that one.

 

does it have the chrono gauge set up on the dash?

 

You can call MINI with the VIN and ask what packages it has.

 

all mc40s have that jcw carbon dash kit. it's possible that the previous owner just installed the jcw intake and exhaust. why don't you just ask him/her? otherwise, as someone else said, look for a jcw plaque underhood or call dealer/miniusa

 

i could not find it on the engine so i dont think it has the kit i gotta call mini to be sure

i cant ask the guy he knew nothing about the car he told me it wasent super charged

Well i think the JCW sound kit only includes the filter, exhaust and new ECU? am i wrong?.. and i think it adds about 5 hp.. not sure though
