JCW Tuning Kit and Strut Brace not compatable

FYI ..... I just put in my order for the JCW Tuning Kit I asked about getting the Strut Brace installed the same day, and my Motoring Advisor said he just got a bulletin that the JCW strut brace would not clear the new JCW air box.

Any one know of a strut brace that will?

See Updated post below!!

You might have to go with the ALTA CAI instead of the JCW Airbox

I don't think that's true cause I think the JCW intake is just a different cone like paper filter that still goes in the stock air box...check out JCW's site to make sure.

I would but, I'm going JCW to keep it street and smog legal. I live in California and we are very strict about after market intake/exhaust :( You can get ticketed for noise as well, then you have to go prove to a judge that you were not over the limit.

According to the press release: "....include a redesigned high-flow air intake box with a performance air filter element". I was hoping the JCW strut brace fits but the MINI dealer told me no. Maybe they will put out a new one.

I was just browsing Morristown MINI and they have a new option for the JCW Strut Brace: "Strut Brace for cars w/ JCW Tuning Kit"

Looks like MINI put out a new one that fits

I just installed the new JCW Strut Tower Bar that's desined for the JCW Tuning Kit. It didn't have the JCW Logo on it like the old one did. I was a little disappointed by that :(

I, too, have the JCW kit and the strut brace. I have a feeling your dealer is mistaken.

I have heard the original one fits but MINI USA put out a alert saying it didn't. There is a new version the curves more. I picked mine up at moristown MINI

I do still have one in there, and while the other guy doesn't have the JCW logo on his brace anymore, mine still does.

Odd, eh?

Yeah, I was disappointed when I saw it didn't have the logo on it. I guess its under the bonnet anyway.

I want to say I do but it could be psychological. If there is a difference, its subtle. I'm taking a road trip to Juian, CA in a couple weeks. Ill have a better chance to test it out on the mountain roads.
