Interior/Exterior Mighty Stripes - Good or Bad?
Mighty Stripes - Good or Bad?
Does anybody have any reviews for Mighty Stripes? I'm thinking of getting stripes, but don't really understand why stripes from Mighty Stripes cost 1/2 - 2/3 less than other vendors on this website.
that's what i thought too!
but i took the plunge and ordered a pair of spaced roof stripes in red. finally got them installed this week, and they are great. the installer said the actual price of just plain vinyl like that would be $10 max, so if you know someone who can print colored vinyl, go with that instead. otherwise, mightystripes is the way to go. hope that helps!

I am reviving this thread. Recently purchased some angled side stripes from eBay for $37. Got them, took to installer, who discovered bits of the backing stuck under the vinyl. He tried to remove to no avail. Ordered some from Mighty Stripes for $75, only to discover the eBay seller and Mighty reside in Michigan! Same seller?!
Anyone have experience with Derek from mighty? His communication, thus far has been good, as I have sent a few inquiries.
Thanks in advance for help!

Have you installed the mighty stripes?? if so and if it worked out well, not sure what your asking about.. You seem to have had a good experience with him. Unless he is also the ebay seller, which you should have contacted that person about your bad item..
No, couldn't install them. After many, many emails to both eBay seller and Derek at Mighty, am getting replacement stripes from eBay, and Derek assures me they are a secondary seller of his lesser quality vinyl designs, and his will be better....we'll see....
Should get them at same time, so I will compare. Both sellers very responsive, so one way or another they will work out. And how fantastic is it that my install guy spent an hour trying to fix them and wouldn't take my money for his time. He's got my business!

I ordered from Mighty Stripes because the factory Mini stripes were chipped and beat up. I think for the price they aren't bad, I didn't like the idea of a separate border stripes when I received my order so I didn't put them on. Anyways, I'll post pictures tomorrow!
Got my side stripes this week, getting installed today, very excited
I also have an extra set from ebay and may get boot stripes on my Clubman
We got the "Americana" bonnet/side/rear stripes for my wife's MINI and had a mixed experience. Here's a picture from the Mighty Stripes site for a reference:

The first problem was that even though the stars are pure white in the picture, they're actually only star-shaped holes cut in the blue vinyl, so the stars are going to be whatever color the car is, not necessarily white.
Then, even though the bonnet stripes shown in the picture are "U-shaped" (the stripes are wider up near the windshield and narrower near the grille), what came in the kit were just lengths of constant-width blue vinyl, not tapered. Essentially, they were the basic "sport stripes", not the U-stripes.
Also, the red pinstripes are not pre-placed on the same backing paper as the blue stripes, so you have to install them separately, being careful to maintain the correct spacing. Lastly, not all of the red stripes were the same shade (perhaps the pieces came from different dye lots?)
I ended up having the kit professionally installed since I was pressed for time, and the installer did say that the vinyl itself was very high quality, so that was good. And after four years, it's held up very well. But considering that the kit was essentially nothing more than wide blue vinyl with some holes cut out of it, along with some red pinstriping packaged separately, I still think the kit was wildly overpriced at $178 for the bonnet, boot and sides.

Going to give it a week to see if they iron out in the sun. If that fails he is going to have some 3m stripes made for me at his cost. erg..lesson learned. At least my install guy is honest!! He used to apply those big globes on UPS trucks!!
Depending on how big the bubble are, you may be pleasantly surprised. I had Aesthetic Creations install a big vinyl design on my MINI (several hundred individual pieces), and while there were a few bubbles at the end, they were all gone in a matter of weeks. Resist the urge to ***** the bubbles with a pin to let the air out - the vinyl isn't 100% airtight, so the bubbles will work themselves out naturally.
OMG! Thank you for telling me this!! He did say to give it a week to see what happens. He told me he spoke with a buddy who makes his own vinyl graphics, who told him not to use soapy water, instead just windex the surface, so he was worried about that. There are a lot of tiny bubbles mainly on the top part of the angled side stripes. The first applied side DID app[ear to iron out a bit after we let it sit in the sun...will be patient
Thanks again!!

Update
Day 2 after my vinyl side stripe installation. The first side he installed is almost completely smooth!
The other side, which ended up with the most bubbles is slightly improved. She is now parked with the sun beating down on that side, so I am very hopeful!
Thanks for the input!

I ordered from mighty stripes. The owner Derek is a very nice person. But i asked for something to match the dark silver, he sent me a gray, that was the "closest" he had. It is more of a buckeye gray. In pictures it looked OK but it still looked to OSU buckeyes, which is fine cause i live in Columbus, Ohio, but not fine cause i am not big into sports. Anyways the package i got is the cooper S package. And my installer said it was one of the cheapest vinyl he has ever installed and he was annoyed with many bits and pieces stuck the the vinyl that he couldn't get unstuck. I guess you get what you pay for.
Long story short the vinyl was harder for the installer to put on so i got charged more then i expected to pay. Then i ended up taking the gray off the roof, because I did not care for it. I am not left with a single small red stripe down the roof, which actually looks pretty badass now. it matches my wheels and interior.
I don't have a very good picture of them yet, i guess i have not had too much time. I will post them in my gallery soon.
Here are some pretty bad ones.

Based on the thread here I took a chance and ordered from Mighty Stripes. I wish I had a different experience and advice to offer, but I absolutely cannot recommend them. Not only was the product inferior (not as pictured, accent stripes were creased/damaged, and the spacing between the pinstripes and main stripe was inconsistent along the length of the stripes), the customer service I received was horrendous and dismissive...definitely in the top 3 worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I cannot use the stripes I ordered without cutting off the pinstripes and applying them separately, at which point I could and should have just purchased a roll of pin-striping for a fraction of the cost instead of throwing $100 in the trash.
