Lights loose on Palo Uber Light bar

Folks - Any suggestions?

I purchased a 06 MCS about 2 months ago (Crevier Mini - OC CA) and it came with the Palo Uber lightbar. Unfortunatley one of the lights is getting loose. I looked and I cannot figure how to tighten it up and I'm getting worried it may fall off! Is this something I need to take back to the dealer to fix or is it simple? I'm not very mechanically inclined... ;-(

The lights appear to be the standard Mini rally lights rather then the other types talked about here.

Any ideas?

I've attached a pic.

Thanks,

Damian

You will need to get underneath the car and reach up under the front bumper. The bolts should be able to be tightened there.

Unfortunatley the bolts are not accessible (or at least I could not find out how). Looking at the Palo Uber install PDF it appears you need to take the bumber off to get at them?

Anyway - it's sadly less of an issue now. The light fell off this afternoon.
Thankfully I stopped before it completely fell off as it would have ruined the light and probably damaged the front end. I had to cut the wire to remove the light. I called Creiver Mini and yelled loudly.. I'm going in 1st thing on Sat for them to fix it. The car has a 1000 miles and bits are falling off it!

Anyone know if these lights are the type that they should have used on this begin with?

sigh... I love my mini - but I had hoped my 1st month of driving would not end in such disappointment.

There is a plastic skidplate that you would have needed to remove and then it would have been accessible. Sorry I forgot to mention it in the first post

Remember that this is an Uber Mini light bar, not a factory part, and thus needs to be looked at from an aftermarket point of view. In other words, don't blame your MINI or your dealer. Blame Palo Uber and his "world class" products.

The dealer installed it. It is equally likely to be either a bad installation or defective product.

Dealer apologized and fixed it - one light was not installed right and not tightened. The light bar itself doesn't come with lights. You add your own, in this case the dealer used the standard Mini rally lights rather then the more common aftermarket lights. I like the look, but the downside is the tightening bolts are under the bumper rather then on top.

I also made sure they knew that if it happens again they are responsible.

Look on the bright side (no pun intended). At least they way they are installed they are a deterrent to theft
