Gauge face install

I have already installed the gauge faces from Cockpit Specialties. They are very easy to do. My car w/ UJ is in the photo. The colors look amazing in the car, but I'm partial to black. The lighting is as good if not better than Factory, with all the proper icons in place.
Install tips:the set includes a plastic "wedge" to help remove the dash cover and gauge "glass". The needle removes easily and on the speedo is self centering. Just use care when prying off. Mark the area on the housing where the needles are removed to give yourself a head start.
The price may seem high to some, but these are the real deal, laser cut with multiple ink layers, very high quality.
BTW--navi owners, your prayers will be answered.

gauge lights-

The gauges light as good if not better than the originals. It has the same intensity as the amber is now, but the diffusing is better, more even. The icons are identical. The gauges look black when lit, completely opaque.Photos soon.

Chrono coming

Randal at Cockpit Specialties told me they are working on dials for the Chrono pak. Depending on how much they have to tweak the lighting it'll be anywhere from 4-8 weeks. They're doing the speedo and tach. Email him rhenderson@motson.com if you want a set and he'll let you know when they're ready. He also said they should have BRG, Yellow and Charcoal standard faces in about 2 weeks.

I'll be getting the prototypes for the chrono pack (meaning the speedo and tach) in the next few weeks from Randal so I will let you know and post pics as soon as I get them.....

As soon as the Dark Silver or a Carbon Fibre look are available, I will happily order these. Maybe we could get a SoCal install party going. Who wants to buy the beer?

Dood, I am not sure you want to be doing this while drinking beer. It's not like it's sound editing.

I just got my blue set from Randal, and will install them next week. I spoke with him several times, and they are working on a few more standard colors....Yellow, BRG and Grey. He said he was almost done with the prototype Nav units, guess we know where those are going, cough, cough, CustomAV, cough, cough.

Randal seems to be a great guy, and I ordered my plates on Monday, got them Yesterday....Thursday. but that was because they had them in stock and ready to ship. If they need to make a color, it might take a bit longer for manufacturing.

There are high res pics in my gallery for those interested in seeing close ups of the blue versions....some pics in the other thread as well.

You are talking to a professional, kind sir. Ya know the problem with most drunks is that they don't practice enough. So when they do certain things while inhebriated, they tend to make mistakes. Me on the other hand, I have a strict drinking regimen, and have learned how to accomplish most anything while holding my beer perfectly level. Plus, my puppy usually supervises all of my MINI installs, and she is one kick-butt quality control puppy. now I just gotta teach her how to open my beers...
