Interior/Exterior The Union Jack-ification Thread
Ok I am new to this UJ "club" I have just valve stem caps and license frames. I do however have several plans one is going to be a huge PITA but it is something I haven't seen done yet...
I'll post once I start going UJ crazy. Just wanted to say things are awsome that you guys have. I may need to steal some of the custom idea like the door flag insertion, unless I go with the AC door accents and the boot cover fabric might need to be done.

Just an FYI: I'm going to send the pattern I made for the visor mirror covers to Mike at Aesthetic Creations so he can make decals for anyone who might be interested.
It'll probably be the first of next week before I get it in the mail.

Just like the mirror covers, they fade VERY FAST in the sun...
I'd still get them again though.
I've had both the door handles and mirror caps on now for almost two years and they both are doing well - no fade.
I do keep my MINI waxed with Epic and Banana Gloss though so perhaps the UV protection is working. I even wax the rearview mirror cover too since it takes a lot of sun-abuse.
Jason, you keep you car waxed don't you?

Yet my checkered caps on my CR Cooper were so faded after two years that I replaced them with new ones.
It was very noticeable on mine because I had the clear bra material that covered about 70 percent of the caps. The white under the film looked like new, nice, bright white. The part that was not covered, was turning a light shade of yellow.
Of course, mine is garage-kept and hardly ever driven on weekends since we bought the convertible nearly two years ago.
Mine is a daily driver and no garage. Plus high altitude sun.
I'm sure UV protection varies by batch so perhaps I got some good plastic or that perhaps my whites just aren't that white anymore but without the clearbra I have nothing to remind me what they use to look like.

Thanks for the info. My side UJ mirrors haven't faded at all, so guess it's a go for the door handles. I never thought about waxing them, interesting. My MINI is in the garage so guess that helps. Thanks again.

where can I get the rearview mirror cap in blackjack style Ive seen the unionjack style but not blackjack can anyone help? so far I have my door handles and sidemarkers and my inner door handles are being shiped from AC cross my fingers they wont take 6 weeks.
I just found this thread after seeing lancs clubbie's new post about replacing his bumper.
I can't answer that, but your car took my breath away.
Little Wing is slowly working towards the same look as your clubbie.
They will practically be twins if I get those UJ's installed.
I just added the mirror caps, am planning on getting the Black Jack roof, and am playing with the idea of the side panels.
Now that I see yours, hmmm, yeah, gotta have that too.
I didn't even know about the center stack UJ until a couple of days ago and really like that too.
I think that the arm rests on the inner doors are cool.
The Black Jack outer door handles are definitely on my list.
Now that I've seen your car, I've gotta just do it.
It's beautiful!
I am so excited to find a UJ thread. LOL!
I had no idea that there was a thread dedicated to UJ addicts.
When Little Wing came home last August, the first thing my elder son said was, "You're going to stick UJ's all over this car, aren't you?"
Of course my answer was, "I many as I can fit!"
My husband sadly shook his head.
He had begged me not to put any of "those tacky stripes on the hood."
I assured him that the silver bonnet stripes are subtle and in the best of taste.
The new mirror caps are just the beginning of Little Wing's Black Jack transformation.
Your pics of Silverstone are wonderful.
I would have loved to have been there for MINIs United.
Had I known about it, I would have come over just to see it.
At that point, I was only thinking about getting a MINI.
This is Little Wing, by the St. John's river in Jacksonville, FL.
The Union Jack-ification has only just begun with the mirror covers.

O/T - I have an aunt near Brackley and who once had a neighbor who was a computer programmer at Silverstone. On a visit, when my sons were younger, her neighbor took them to Silverstone to watch some of the F1s on practice runs.
They were in heaven, but the noise was a shock to them.
My aunt turns her home into a B&B for the Grand Prix every year.
I am so glad that the F1 Grand Prix will remain at Silverstone for a few more years. My aunt says that the surrounding villages really count on the income that it generates, not to mention the excitement of have the big event in the neighborhood.
She missed the MINIs United and heard about it from me. She would have gone to see it if she had known.
My aunt bought one of the very first minis off the production line. She has gone through three minis, keeping each one until the floors were worn away and she was soaked up to her knees whenever she drove.
She was so thrilled when I picked her up in Atlanta for her annual Thanksgiving visit and drove her in Little Wing down to see my mom in Jacksonville. She loved Little Wing and couldn't believe that I had bought the latest version of her very favorite car!

Time to breathe some life into an old thread....

Gromit getting his newest Union Jack (modified to Hot Orange/Chrome/Black, of course) at MINIs On The Dragon 2010. The graphic was made and applied by Mike at Aesthetic Creations.

Hi lancs!
Take a look at Little Wing now.

Just when I thought that we would have a matched set on each side of the pond, you go and change things around.
Looks great!
I am really happy with Little Wing's new look.
Mike at Aesthetic Creations custom made and applied the graphics at MOTD 2010.
Thanks Mike!

Gromit is looking awesome too.
I wasn't brave enough to hang around while Mike worked on LW, but I did watch a bit of Gromit's new installations.

Hanging around watching the installation is as much fun for me as enjoying the stuff afterward. Especially since I think about a particular mod or graphic for ~2 years before I finally install it. By then, there is a lot of anticipation!
