TheLordoftheFlies Pimped my MCS

So yesterday lordoftheflies and I arranged a meeting where he gladly installed some parts for me. I had the Aero Grills to go on my stock bumper and the halo marker lamps. While at his house though, I bought the engine damper and a black hoodscoop he had. Here are the before and after pics....

BEFORE:

AFTER:

I am verrrrrrrrrry happy with the way Shoe installed everything. He's a great guy to meet if you have the chance. Also the damper is worth the buy everybody! For 55$ you cannot go wrong.

My exterior is almost done. I just have to get my Piaa P-9000 driving lamps installed and some new wheels and tires and I'm set. Also have to make my way to Helix to install the pulley/exhaust and other mods I have sitting in my room.

I realllllly want to get and install the aero grills. Where did you get them and how much did you pay?

Was it really a pain in the rear to install them???

I have heard mixed opinions on the install. Do you have to take off the front bumper for sure to get on the middle one??

Thanks for the advice in advance.

Your front end is pimpalicious!!!

I purchased the aero grills from MyMini... you can get the grills from OutMotoring also and I'm sure there are other places too.

You're really going to have to talk to lordoftheflies on this on the difficulty level. I didn't trim down the back of the grill nor did I trim through the bumper. It does involve some time, a dreamel, and a lot of patience. You have to trim the back of the grill...cut some of the tabs. Theres a how-to on motoringfile.com It is recommended you take the bumper off b/c it's a lot easier to line of the trimmed grill to the front of the bumper and see where you need to drill slots for the grill to clip in.

All and all if you're going to do it yourself, i'd suggest take your time. If you're like me and can't do anything for yourself, lol, take it someone more experienced. It's worth the money to get it done.

I bought the halo marker lamps from mikeythemini in the UK http://www.newministuff.com I bought them with the Osram Diadem bulbs. He also has the SilverTrac bulbs which are chrome looking. Also very nice.

Wow, totally different look Marco! I like.

How hard was the install of the halo marker lamps? I've seen the big thread about it here and on MINI2, but when I looked at mine the locations of the mounting screws are different. Did you have to take off the front bumper?

The marker lamps are a piece of cake to install. I watched Shoe do it in seriously 10 minutes. The halo's have the same 3 screw housing like the stock ones. It's a direct replacement. Having the bumper off makes it a hellava lot easier to install them. I read in that thread on mini2 about people doing it without taking the bumper off but I couldn't see how... very tight down there.

Speaking of that thread on mini2...When that thread was first created, I was interested in the halos. As soon as I purchased my MCS in April '06, I bought them. Finally 8 months later they're installed. I am a very happy man.

THanks for the compliments everybody!
