Anyone painted the headlight trim the same color as the hood?

I am wanting to see what painting the headlight trim on the MCS or MINI would look like on a DS MCS. any color would give me the idea but I am trying to dechrome everything and want to understand what it would look like.
Thanks

...check an one of the old import tuner mags from about 3 years ago. they did a MATTE black (all black) Cooper with a straight pipe and some other cool stuff. All of the chrome was painted....it was a 3-5 page spead. Does anyone know what mag I'm talking about?

They were referring to the MINI as kinda 'sissy' looking and they needed to make it a little mean...

I did mine DS just before MTTS at Lime Rock. I was going to do them black until I checked out this thread...

So curious now that I have seen this I am going to do it but I want to know where everyone is getting the paint to do this and how they are color matching it? Does anyone know the cost of this?
Thanks

Well, the painter just takes the paint code off the car and has the paint mixed.

The guy we use around here ain't cheap, but the work shows.

It cost around $700 to paint all those pcs and have them installed, and this includes new trim rings for the lights, since the old ones will be trashed when they are removed.

This was not the case with mine, as a matter of fact, I had my original left side one painted so I could put it on in place of the new one I bought at the dealer. The new one was a little different and does not sit as nice as the right side.

700 DOLLARS, good Lord, that's a lot of money!!

I have a body shop here at work, so it didn't cost me that much. I didn't do the door handles yet.

I had mine done same shop where TampaMCS did his and it was expensive, but worth every penny. He also did another buddy of ours Dark Silver (DJBohne).

The shops attention to detail is just amazing and this guy knows his MINI's
