Pics of DS with black grill trim?

Thinking about this look and was wondering if anyone has done this. That is, painting the chrome trim on the stock (non-Aero) grill black. If you have, let me see that bad boy!

No pics of exactly what you are considering, but I'd say go for it. I spent too much money on a pseudo overlay aero grille (see photo in signature below), and realized how easy painting the existing grille (especially the chrome slats) would have been to get a similar look.

Spray paint would have been cheaper.

Precisely. And me likey! Very sweet!

I think this would really work on my all-DS car with black beltline trim, anthracite Superleggeras and JCW CF bits.

Could you describe how you painted the grill chrome and the headlight trim rings and what kind of paint you used? I like the idea of doing a semi-matte finish like yours to match the lower body trim. Did you do the door handles and gas cap also? Talk to me, baby.

Ok, first of all, dont call me baby.

The gascap, headlight rings and grille surrounds are covered in Undercoating.

Decent impact resitance, easily applied, you really cant mess it up. scuff and shoot, its really easy. (Cept for the gascap, i had to sandblast mine down to the zinc plating to get the stuf to stock)

I will be painting the door handles, they dont get hit with rocks much, and the undercoating doesnt like to be touched constantly like door handles are.

Undercoating... interesting. I was with you until "had to sandblast mine down to the zinc plating to get the stuff to stick." That takes the pita factor up a bit too high for me.
